i find it to be just glorified incest with a new label that somehow makes it okay, because like

if you are the same person, you share the same family, blood, dna, parents, etc! Basically making you relatives (closest to siblings), why the FUCK would it be okay to date a relative? the reason incest fucks up biology is because DNA and shit is too similar, which is why deformities and death happen… tell me, what you think is gunna happen when the DNA is EXACTLY THE SAME?

now call me a nerd on that point, but my second point is: its just derived from incest fetishes, selfcest started because people want to see two people that look similar (like siblings) fuck and kiss, without actually saying theyre into incest. It just “makes it okay” because “oh no its the same person!”, when it doesnt. Even if thats not the intention of people now (as its been normalized alot more so even people who dont have incest kinks and such are shipping it because, they just see it as two characters now or are kids who dont get why its bad) its still its roots and is the true meaning behind it, which SHOULD NOT be normalized, if you want to look at that shit for god knows what reason it should be kept on adult spaces, not a fetish to be kept in the open for kids to develop into thinking is okay.
