Using a Random Mario Species generator my friend made, I generated my own Paper Mario partners! I’ve designed 8, but here’s the first 4. Antdrew is an Antotto, an ant enemy from Super Mario Land 2. I imagine Antdrew being the starting partner with the Tattle ability. Igno is a Lethal Bob-omb, a Bob-omb thats always lit from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Redthorn is a Chomp, which is a big plant enemy from Donkey Kong Country Returns. Finally, Pearl is a Virus from Dr. Mario. I thought it was clever to have a Virus with no color, and therefore no weakness to Megavitamins. What a fun art style to emulate!

I'm having a hard day, so may I request some Antauri x Otto?

A hard day, huh? Just this once, I’ll bump this request to the top of the list to make your day better. :) I can’t have any of my followers feeling down.

Antauri was directly outside the Super Robot, facing Shuggazoom City. He floated in midair in a traditional meditation position as he breathed in and out slowly. This used to be his preferred method of meditation. He would feel the wind against his fur and hear the many sounds of the bustling city in the distance. But now that he was nothing but a metallic shell, he didn’t quite get that same satisfaction. “Mind if I join you?” Antauri eventually heard. 

Antauri opened his eyes and slowly turned his head. He saw Otto standing next to him, a little smile on his face. Antauri lowered himself back to the ground and properly stood up. “I thought you weren’t interested in meditation.”

“I’m not,” Otto said. “But I wanted to be out here with you. With the resurrection of Skeleton King, everyone is a little on edge. Sparx was crying earlier and Nova had to go calm him down.”

Antauri took a deep breath. “It’s hard to comprehend the amount of tension that this team holds right now. A lot has happened, and while everything is silent now, who knows how long we must wait until Shuggazoom City will be in grave danger.”

“Yeah, but... I want to make the most out of it,” Otto said. “Everyone else is freaking out, but you look like you’re okay.”

“I’ve had plenty of time to clear my mind,” Antauri said. “But even I’m tense. I want to be grounded in the present, but I find myself thinking about what the future holds.” Antauri reached his hands forward and gently curled his fingers around Otto’s fingers. “I think one of the things keeping me calm is that I at least have someone I want to fight for.”

Otto chuckled. “That doesn’t sound like something you’d say, Antauri, but... I feel the same way. I’m scared, but I think we can do it if you say we can do it.” Otto cocked his head to the side. “You think we can do it... right?”

Antauri smiled and kissed Otto’s cheek. “I can’t say anything with certainty for right now, but... yes. I think we may have a chance to set things right. We’ve done it before. We can do it again.”

Otto brought his hand forward, curling his fingers around Antauri’s entire hand. He leaned forward and kissed Antauri on the lips. He was still getting used to the coldness of Antauri’s metal lips, but the affection was still felt by both of them. “Then we can do anything.”

Can we have angsty Otto x Antauri? (idk their ship name) Like Otto getting badly hurt in a mission or something

Ottauri? Antotto? I’m not sure, I haven’t seen this ship before. But I’ll give it my best shot. :)

Antauri clawed his way through many of Skeleton King’s minions. As he did so, he took a look around to make sure that everyone was alright. Sparx and Nova had each other’s backs as a group of skeleton drones were forming a large circle around them while Gibson was busy with freezing and shattering another group of monsters in the corner of the room.

Antauri then brought his gaze over to Otto, who managed to keep back an ongoing swarm of monsters that were constantly moving towards him. Antauri felt that Otto was getting the most pressure of enemies, but was seemingly doing well fending them off.

Antauri brought his attention back to his own swarm of enemies, knowing that he had enough to deal with. He kept himself constantly moving, ensuring that he wouldn’t be surprised by any enemies from behind. When the constant amount of attacks started to slow down, Antauri looked around to see if anyone needed help.

Sparx and Nova? Fine.

Gibson? Doing well.

Otto?

Antauri heard a loud yelp come from the other end of the room and quickly whipped his head around to see Otto on the ground as a bunch of skeleton drones draped themselves on top of him, taking slashes at him. Antauri gasped as he ran towards the crowd. “Hyperforce, stop what you’re doing. We have to help Otto.”

Everyone nodded their heads and continued to fight through the mobs until they were able to reach Otto. They slashed through the several minions that were beating Otto, doing everything they could to get them off of their fallen member. After several moments, Otto was finally freed. Gibson, Sparx, and Nova turned around and formed a circle around Otto and Antauri, making sure that they were safe.

Antauri grabbed Otto’s hand and looked down at his bloodied body. His arms and legs were riddled with scratches and deep gashes. His head piece was also cracked from the constant trauma being place upon it. “Will you be alright?”

“I-I’ll be fine, Antauri,” Otto tried to smile, but then ended up coughing up blood onto himself and Antauri. “Sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. Don’t speak. I’m going to get us out of here.”

“What about-...” Otto coughed up more blood. “Skeleton King?”

“I’m willing to allow him to escape one more time if it means treating a fellow member,” Antauri said, kissing Otto’s cheek. “Losing you is not an option.” Antauri wrapped his arms behind Otto’s back and legs and slowly picked him up. “I know this is painful... just hang in there until we can get you back.”

Antauri turned to the rest of the Robot Monkeys and yelled, “Hyperforce, fall back! We’re returning to Shuggazoom.” Antauri quickly ran out of the caves, looking down at Otto. He felt him shake with every bit of pain going through his body. “Just stay with us, Otto.”

Antotto! I’ve always liked these guys. They’re one of the main enemies of Tree Zone. I might try to roughly group the enemies together by the worlds they’re in, but since Super Mario Land 2 lets you pick which world you want to go to in any order, I figured I’d take inspiration from that and not do these drawings in any particular order. Something to note is that Antotto is actually this enemy’s Japanese name. A majority of the enemies in this game only have official Japanese names, so I’ll always include those, but sometimes if I have an idea for an English name, I’ll include that too just for fun. As for Antotto... nah, he’s perfect the way he is.
