Sprx x Otto!

Ohhh some complementary color monkeys to start with! Nice, nice.

I think this ship is pretty underrated tbh. It has more of a casual vibe than the other possible monkey ships- like, I can totally see them having a relationship that's not totally platonic without it being a big deal. A "maybe they're bros who kiss, maybe they're dating" sort of thing. They don't really care about formalities or labels so long as the other is comfortable.

Also, I feel like with this ship we'd have an opportunity to explore both of their characters more. Sparx is a highly emotional character, and he doesn't always express those emotions in a good manner; meanwhile Otto, for all his goofiness and silliness, is actually pretty emotionally intelligent and mature. Sparx is also very much a romantic, and we've seen in the show a few times that he's particularly receptive to help from a love interest (Nova), so it'd be interesting to see how Otto handles Sparx's temper and frustration.

In addition, Sparx's romantic tendencies also make him very adoring, so I think he'd build Otto up a lot- makes me imagine a version of the show where they're dating from the start, and Sparx very pointedly praises Otto everytime Gibson puts his inventions down (which would have the added benefit of giving more dimension to Gibson and Sparx's rivalry, so that's pretty cool). Sparx is definitely the type who would sit and listen to Otto ramble about his inventions even though he has no idea what he's talking about, and I imagine Otto would make him little trinkets and knick-knacks because he knows Sparx would appreciate them.

Anyway yeah I approve of the gay monkeys 👍🏻

Otto grabbed Sprx's face. He put his forehead on his. Tears ran down his snout. His eyes were almost completely closed. Whether Sprx wanted to or not, he was staring right at his eyes. It brought forth the tears he himself tried to hold back. It was at this point that he realized Otto wasn't lying to himself to make himself feel better, but he saw it as the truth. A truth that Otto felt Sprx wasn't accepting about himself.

He didn't know which was worse in this scenario. The fact he believed his facade, or the fact he was fighting to make Sprx believe his own words. ----------------------- Writing a fanfic? Hell yeah. Drawing something for a fic? Fuck yeah that's good shit. Drawing something for your own fanfic? Galaxy brained energy. I was gonna have a speedpaint video to accompany this but it's being a pain in the ass rn so it might take longer and ngl, I don't feel like waiting for that to render properly before throwing this up.
