feeling v antsy tonight, send asks?
Can I have my coffee without a side of worry, plz?
Try to be relaxed at night. Your morning routine can contribute to being anxious but so can your bedtime routine. Look at them both.

5 ways to relieve anxiety without medication
While becoming frightened or anxious is a feeling that is familiar to everyone, some of us are especially prone to having anxiety. When left unchecked, anxious feelings can hinder our day to day lives or completely take away our freedom and happiness. Prescription medications are an option for those who need them, but it is also possible to receive anxiety treatment without medication. Here are 5 ways to relieve anxiety without drugs.
1. SEE A THERAPIST
An effective and well known anxiety treatment without medication is regular counseling. Professionals such as mental health counselors, social workers, and psychologists are able to provide therapy for sufferers of anxiety without prescribing medication. Therapy is a great way to learn multiple coping mechanisms for dealing with anxiety as it arises in your day to day life.
2. PRACTICE DEEP BREATHING
Many of the physical effects of anxiety, such as a tight chest and rapid heartbeat, can be controlled through breathing exercises. When we are stressed out or anxious, our breaths become fast and shallow. Taking slow, deep breaths slows the heartbeat and allows proper oxygenation of vital organs.
Deep breathing, when done regularly, trains the body to breathe more deeply automatically, making it a very valuable anxiety treatment without medication. To practice deep breathing, focus on breathing from the abdomen. Inhale while counting to 8, hold for a couple seconds, and then slowly release the breath while counting to 6. Repeat until your anxious feelings subside.
3. FACE NECESSARY FEARS, BUT AVOID UNNECESSARY TRIGGERS
Some anxiety sufferers need to do the things that make them anxious to lead fulfilling independent lives. If your anxiety stems from a daily activity, such as driving, avoiding it can lead to agoraphobia, or the fear of leaving your home. It is important to work with your therapist to overcome these fears. Controlled, repeated exposure to the trigger can minimize the anxiety it causes.
For other anxiety sufferers, the simplest anxiety treatment without medication is to avoid what causes the anxious feeling. For example, many people get very anxious from spending too much time watching the news, or reading about current events. The news tends to highlight the most negative things happening in the world, all of which are out of our control. If you find that your greatest anxiety comes from watching the daily news, try limiting the amount of news programming you consume, especially at night.
4. TALK TO SOMEONE
Suffering lessens when we don’t have to go through it alone, and anxiety feeds on silence. If you are having a lot of anxiety, confiding in a close friend or family member is a great way to feel less anxious. Simply verbalizing the feelings in itself tends to lessen them.
4. EXERCISE
A sedentary lifestyle in itself can cause anxiety, and exercising creates a positive release. When we exercise, our brains release feel-good hormones that can make us feel calmer, more alert, and better focused for the rest of the day.
If you aren’t ready to run a half marathon or have a high intensity workout at the gym, don’t sweat it. The best exercises for anxiety are gentler ones. Walking, especially outdoors, is a perfect stress reliever. Even taking the dog around the block can greatly increase your mood. Exercises that focus on mindfulness and self-discipline, such as yoga or some forms of martial arts, are also very helpful anxiety remedies.
5. PARTICIPATE IN YOUR FAITH
No matter what your religion, the generally shared belief that things will get better and that the things that are out of your control are being taken care of by a greater power are calming to most people. Exploring and practicing your faith takes some of your personal burden off from you, so no matter what you believe, practice it. Prayer is especially helpful for anxiety.
If you are not religious, you can still enjoy many of the same benefits through mindful meditation. Studies have even suggested that meditation positively changes the structure of the brain, possibly eliminating anxiety for good.

Urgent/time sensitive. It's currently 2am and I'm really anxious and can't fall alseep. I have no reason to be and it's doesn't happen to me often. What do I do next time it happens?
Hey love!
Do you know what you felt anxious about? These anxiety episodes happen a lot to people who are more tensed in their every day life. When you’re trying to wind down, your brain suddenly gets a lot of stimulus because there are less things that will distract you. That’s why creative people are very active at night.
Try and remember what you felt anxious about. This helps me figure out what is happening and only from then that I could start to work through what to do next and how to handle it the next time it happens. Write down what you’re anxious about. Ask yourself if it’s grounded. For example, sometimes I’m worried that I’m not making a difference in the world. It’s very vague and even though I haven’t found the cure for cancer I know for a fact that that’s not true. I have to tell myself that my work here - on this blog, my work at the nursery, my work with the freshmen in college, and everyone I come in contact with matter. The things I do matter even if it’s as small as smiling at someone or saying hello to that gentleman standing at the entrance of walmart. Why? Because there’s a chance that no one said hello to them. There’s a chance that no one smiled at them. There’s a chance that of the asks I answered on this blog, one of it touched someone’s heart. Even if it wasn’t the asker, even if it wasn’t a follower, there’s a chance that someone saw something that gave them hope, made them smile, or made them feel something. That made a difference.
So that’s why I think it’s beneficial to analyse your anxiety and try to find a way to comfort yourself. You know the truth better than anyone and even if you don’t fully believe it just try and reason it out. Over time, you’ll learn to accept the basic fact of life. You matter by attending to class every day.
This is more focused on your psychology than your physiology. Sometimes when we get anxious it gets really hard to breathe and you can’t even think straight when it happens. So if that happens, get yourself on the floor. Bends your knees so that your entire back is resting comfortably on the floor. Put your hands on your stomach or your hips whichever feels comfortable. And breathe. Take a deep breath in through your nose. You can do it through a count of 5 or until you feel that your lungs are fully expanded. And then slowly exhale through your mouth - cycling the breath. Do that for 5-10 minutes. This will help you slow down your heart rate which will help regulate your breathing better and it’ll help your clear your mind as well.
Depending on how bad your anxiety gets, you may or may not need to be medicated but from what I got I assume they’re just episodes that makes it hard to shut off your mind for the night, right? It’s not uncommon. Try and remember if you’ve had a rough day too. When too many things happened during the day that caused you to be more tense than usual, it can cause you to have restless nights. If you had a really stressful day, try the relaxing technique i told you before you get into bed. It’ll help you unwind and should help with sleep.
Always by your side,
Kelly

It's been a long day & I just feel like there's this huge weight on my chest. I don't know why exactly but it's making me anxious.
Anyway, first day back in school went fairly well. I can't really complain.
Wish I could just get rid of this anxiousness.
Dude, seriously. I can't be the only one that gets that stifling anxious feeling that's so utterly horrible when I've missed a day or two of running.
and then to get rid of it, get dressed in a hurry to hit the pavement, sand, trails, or track
