Me every time I interact with someone more than once: Oh no, now I’ve become annoying. I don’t think they like me anymore. Maybe I should just stop talking to them altogether to save myself the future embarrassment.

Person: So are you married?

Me: Oh no, (awkward laugh) that’s probably not going to happen for years. I mean, I haven’t been on a date in...ever. (Weird smile)

My brain: Idiot. Why did you tell them that? They don’t need to hear about your dating life!

Me, thirty seconds later: Still smiling strangely.
