Dedicating my first post after 72 hours without electricity to my favorite little lady. Happy birthday, Mini Spice 🧡 (featuring her bbf (best bird friend) Paravani, of course)

Mandatory Religious Reference Ramble™️:

Paneer's birthday is based on Karthigai Deepam, a Hindu holiday held in honor of the god Kartikeya. It celebrates his origins; in a way, it's HIS birthday. (There's also Kartik Purnima, which serves the same purpose, but is held on a different day due to calendar corrections.) It's a big festival of lights: people light oil lamps everywhere, launch fireworks, and eat sweets and special dishes. And they arrange the lamps into really stunning designs/shapes, including... lotuses 🤔 (Seriously look it up, the art they make with the lamps is so captivating)

Besides Kartikeya being Paneer's primary inspiration, she actually would enjoy the hell out of a festival like this, so big beautiful shiny light show birthday for her it is. She gets everything the real festival does: lamps and candles lit all over the GCK and Land of Spice, lots of pretty fireworks, lots of food and candy (including a biiiiiiiiiiiiig plate of knafeh, her favorite dessert, just for her). Everyone is welcome/invited, from the kingdoms and beyond. And everyone has to give her lots of hugs and kisses! It's her birthday and she said so!

This is a difficult post to write. I wasn’t going to but it’s easier to say it once than lots of times: unless something radically changes…

realised I never posted this here. it's been painful realising that FE simply isn't working out and that I'm being overlooked for other opportunities by clinging to it. I don't think there is anything more I could have done, I don't think I wasn't good enough. as Alice Powell once summarised the break in her racing career as, dripping with sarcasm, to a male journalist: "I didn't run out of talent."
