Yerin Ha in Bridgerton Season 4
Look at this whorish behaviour
bridgerton season 4 part 1 holy shit is it just me and my benophie bias or was that actually THE best adaptation of the siblings’ love stories so far?? truly they took all the best parts and made them even better, they stayed so true to benedict and especially sophie’s character and her inner turmoil (that muffled scream in episode 2 oh my god my poor girl i just wanna give her a hug), i love that it’s a bit of a slower burn than in the book, and the performances from sophie’s stepfamily especially araminta and posy are spot on like this is me rn
And found himself facing what had to be the most breathtaking woman he’d ever seen.
He couldn’t even tell if she was beautiful. Her hair was a rather ordinary dark blond, and with her mask tied securely around her head he could even see half of her face.
But there was something about her that held him mesmerized. It was her smile, the shape of her eyes, the way she held herself and looked about the ballroom as if she’d never seen a more glorious sight than the silly members of the ton all dressed up in ridiculous costumes.
Her beauty came from within.
She shimmered. She glowed.
She was utterly radiant, and Benedict suddenly realized that it was because she looked so damned happy. Happy to be where she was, happy to be who she was.
Happy in a way Benedict could barely remember. His was a good life, it was true, maybe even a great life. He had seven wonderful siblings, a loving mother, and scores of friends. But this woman—
This woman knew joy.
And Benedict had to know her.
Violet realizing something is off with Sophie
"She is far too educated to be a housemaid. Her mother's employers may have allowed her to share in some of their daughters' lessons, but all of them? I doubt it. Benedict, the girl speaks French!"
"Your accent is impeccable," Lady Bridgerton said. "I know you told me that you had lessons with the children your mother worked for, but that doesn't seem like enough of an explanation to me. Those lessons wouldn't have started until you were a bit older, six at the very earliest, and your speech patterns would have already been rather set by that point.”
"And you know Latin," Lady Bridgerton said. "Don't try to deny it. I heard you muttering under your breath the other day when Hyacinth vexed you."
The color palette 😭
I love this change from the book. I mean, I loved the original scene when Sophie had a big entrance where people whispered about her and gentlemen rushed to her. Here, she stands mesmerized by the chandelier, without anyone noticing her. She's just there enjoying the moment, happy and innocent.
The music is beautiful too, very appropriate to introduce Sophie who's the sweetest character ever.
Of course, a gentleman asks her to dance in the end, which calls back to the book. I'm just screaming at Benedict to wake up and go to her.
