Lower back has been in pain since Saturday and it was very stiff when I attempted to get up and go to the gym this morning, so I didn't go. Woke up showered and went to work. Towards the end of work I decided that I can't end the day without working out, so during my last break, I used a lacrosse ball to roll out the painful area for about 2 minutes on and then stretched it for 30 seconds and 2 minutes again. It felt a tad bit better so I decided to workout. Took a half scoop of preworkout and hit the gym. I was going for a good pump so it was high reps and moderately heavy weight. I had my weight belt just in case, but my lower back didn't bother me. This video might not be high quality or great highlights but the work was done and it felt good. Train around pain, modify workouts so that your pain won't be felt. WHADDUP fam. Tuesday Leg Day was in full effect. Just to warn you before watching there will be no heavy weights or PRs in this video. I decided to look at my training, and really look at it. I've noticed that on leg days my focus was to always go heavy on Squats and then do a few accessory movements at the end and hope my legs would grow. Not the case. I watch a lot of @theonlinecoach YouTube videos, which he probably won't even read this but it's all good. But what I've notice in his training is that he has his power heavy days and he has his hyper high rep pump days. Idk if you guys have ever seen his quads, the guy knows what he's doing. So basically what I'm trying to say and show is, there are days for heavy lifts and there are days for high reps with a decent amount of weight on the bar. Don't get me wrong I love to lift heavy, but i don't want to go for a Personal Record every workout, it does no good for me or for the physique that I want to capture. But here is the routine for my Leg Day: Back Squats 3 Warm Up Sets 8-10 Reps 4 Sets 10-12 with 315LB Lying Leg Curls 4x15-20 Superset with Seated Calve Raise 4x12-15 Leg Extension 4x15-20 Superset with Standing Calve Raise 4x12-15 High Leg Press (Hamstrings) 4x15-25 As you can see I hit the calves which I rarely do but I had time today. This was a full leg workout that I completed and I usually only get to do full leg routines on Saturdays.
