[ ✉ ] — Ugh, what was with his luck today? First he overslept and forgot to put on his pants before running out of the house in a rush, had to run back inside and grab a random pair so the neighbors would stop laughing at him (they didn’t), and then scrambled into the office late with a piece of toast hanging from his mouth, ‘cause it was the simplest and quickest thing he could make before leaving.
He didn’t even like toast, but he’d be damned if he had to go on his long ass delivery route with an empty stomach.
Once that mess of a morning was out of the way, the day seemed like it might be picking up, even though his embarrassment lingered. But just when things were starting to feel normal again, a heavy downpour randomly starts in the middle of his route. Thankfully, it had started while he was making a delivery to the general store. So even if he hadn’t brought an umbrella of his own, he at least had enough luck to buy the last one that was on sale.
As he heads outside to continue on his route, he notices a blonde girl standing under the store’s awning. She made no effort to go out into the rain, and upon closer inspection, didn’t seem to have an umbrella either. Having no protection in this crazy weather? Yikes.
Dirk had his own business to take care of, and he was sure this girl did too, but he wasn’t gonna be a jerk and just leave her like this.
“Yo, Goldilocks.” He gently nudges her in the side with his elbow, easily accomplished due to their close proximity. Once he has her attention, he winks and holds up his umbrella. “Looks like you’re in a bit of a rough spot there! You’re free to share with me, if you want.”
[ ♥ ] — Ah, the Flower Festival... what a wondrous time, filled with love and happy feelings! Flowers weren’t too high on Felicity’s list of interests (of course, that applied to just about anything that wasn’t food), but she could appreciate their beauty, and the heartfelt sentiments attached to them.
So before she heads out to her evening shift at the restaurant, Felicity stops by City Hall to buy some flowers for a few friends, paying a courier to deliver them for her. Hopefully everyone would enjoy their gifts~
Paid 4,600G to @magic-of-negotiation for delivery and purchase of flowers.

Nelly~
I hope you’re having a wonderful day! I know you’re not the biggest fan of flowers, but I just wanted to give you something to express my appreciation for you, and the dear friendship we share. Thank you for supporting me all these years, and being like the amazing brother I never had. I love you, mon ami!
P.S. Have you given your Lady Love her flowers yet? Don’t forget! I’m sure she’d appreciate something nice from you today.
@forte-days-and-knights - Pink Rose
Miss Forte,
Do you remember me? Felicity? Well, whether you do or don’t, I would like to thank you again for coming to my rescue on that dark night. If it weren’t for you, I’m not quite sure what would have happened to me. Thankfully, I won’t have to find out.
It may not be much, but please do accept this rose as part of my eternal gratitude, and admiration for your valor and bravery.
@shyshutterbug - Pink Alstroemeria
Molly, how goes the photography?
We simply must get together for lunch sometime! I know we often see each other at work, but we don’t hang out nearly as much outside of it! Once we can find the time, we should go out somewhere. Maybe a movie? Or, ooh, shopping! You know I’m always in the mood for new clothes~
Just let me know what you’d like to do, and happy Flower Festival!
@culinarycreamsicle - Orange Alstroemeria
Chase, I hope you like the flower! The color reminded me of you.
And don’t think I’ve forgotten about the movie night, either! I know we’ve both been busy, but we simply must set a concrete date soon. Oh, and what snacks we’ll be eating, of course. I also can’t wait to meet your friend! I’m curious to see what this mysterious Gray is like~
@valkyrgwen - Yellow Alstroemeria
Gwen, how are you? It’s been far too long since we’ve seen each other!
I would love to meet for lunch sometime, and catch up. We could even gossip about Nelly and his new girlfriend, too... isn’t it wonderful, that he’s finally found someone to open his heart to? For a while there, I was worried it might never happen!
But enough about him--- I would greatly like to hear what’s been going on in your life lately, so please give me a call!
@icequeendia - Purple Tulip
A royal flower for the most elegant woman I know~
Happy Flower Festival, Dia! I hope you’ve been well since last we met. How is Undine? Has she warmed to you yet? I don’t think she can resist your adorable charm for long, so I would have nothing to worry about.
And if all else fails, perhaps you can win her over with a delicious blueberry pie! Food always helps to bring people together. Spirits, too! Maybe. Hopefully?
@tinastea - Yellow Tulip
You know there was no way I would let the day pass without sending a flower to my bestie! A yellow tulip, for the sunshine in my life.
Thank you for this wonderful friendship we’ve shared, and I hope we get many more years of it! Happy Flower Festival, Tina~
@omgdopecollectorjellyfish - Purple Alstroemeria
Pierre, how have you been? I know work has been keeping you rather busy as of late, so I do hope you’re taking care of yourself! I would tell you to eat right and keep well hydrated, but I’m sure you are more than aware of the importance of a healthy, balanced diet.
But I do hope this flower finds you in good faith! Please accept this gesture of affection, from one friend to another.
@apiescatch - Peach Rose
Cousin! I’m so happy to see you return to the archipelago!
How have you been? Have you been eating well? Taking care of yourself? What places have you gone to, what have you seen, are you dating anyone yet? Ahhh, I have so many questions I want to ask, but not enough room on this little note! We must set up a lunch date soon, to catch up!
Welcome back, Laney.
@sombersonata - Orange Alstroemeria
Hello, Komari!
I do hope you like the flower. And please know that we miss you, here at the Oakwood! The restaurant isn’t quite the same without your sunny smile, hehe. But worry not! We’ll manage just fine.
We should get together again sometime, though. Perhaps I can visit you in Arcadia? You can tell me all about your new job! It was a... maid cafe, if I remember correctly? I’m sure you’ve already got some fun stories!
@pupfarmer - Pink Rose
Fritz, hi!
This is Felicity. From the spirit fight, remember? We didn’t get to speak much at the time, but I just wanted to send you this rose as thanks for all of the hard work you put in to help Dia out! You were very integral to our success, and I am grateful that you came along with us. You’re so young, and yet so strong! It was truly inspiring to see.
Happy Flower Day!
@deadeyeartisan - Pink Rose
Hello, Kurt.
I wonder if you remember me... Felicity, from the Undine battle? I hope so! Because that would make this gift incredibly awkward, wouldn’t it?
But reintroduction aside, I wanted to give you this flower as a token of my gratitude, for the hard work you put in to help Dia out. I can tell your support meant a great deal to her, and just watching you and your determination was enough to inspire me to my best, too! You should feel proud of the part you played.
Happy Flower Day!
@gridballgod - Yellow Alstroemeria
Alex, hello!
How have you been? I’m not sure how you feel about flowers, but since you seemed to like the White Day rose so much, I figured you would enjoy this! The yellow color invokes bright, happy feelings, and that’s how I find myself feeling whenever I’m around you!
With great sadness, I am going to be letting Laney go. The Katz island ownership will now be going to Georgia and the business are up for grabs ofc. In exchange for Laney, can I please reserve Ivan from Grand Bazaar (1/11). And I will probably be sliding him some money.
A girl near and dear to my heart, always. Trust that she shall be greatly missed.💖
But we’re looking forward to Ivan~! You have until January 18th to send him in.
[ ☀ ] — Lillie brushes a few strands of hair out of her face as she steps into the bakery, having just gotten off of her shift at the station. She didn’t have any extra filming slated after her weather broadcast, so she was practically free for the rest of the day. With her busy schedule, that was pretty rare, so she decided to celebrate the occasion by treating herself to some rich, chocolate cake.
“Hello, hello!” She cheerily greets the blonde baker as she steps up to the counter, casually taking note of the maid-inspired uniform. Lillie always thought they were cute, and a part of her wanted to try wearing one for herself one day... of course, that would probably never happen. A girl could dream, though.
Smiling, she waves at Laney, familiar with the woman from her frequent visits. “How are you today, Laney? Well, I hope!”
How many times can he break into a cold sweat? He genuinely asks himself this as he pauses at the question. When was the last time he’s kissed someone? Does he ever remember if he’s ever kissed anyone? By God, he’s almost sure his lips have never locked with another living being’s lips. If he gave the truth however... No! He didn’t want to be seen as this random hobo loser with no luck in romance!
He must lie! For the sake of his image!... Or bullshit an answer.
“i would say I’m decent? I’d rather prefer having another’s opinion on my kissing skills than giving my own. I wouldn’t consider it accurate.”
Admittedly, Marlin often overreacted to things. It was how a man like him stayed alive: keeping his eyes open, his ears pointed, and his suspicions high.
Sometimes, however, those suspicions did rude things...like making sweet blonde women cry...in the middle of a dance. And, after such rude things, it befell him to do something equally as excessive to make sure he made amends.
Such was his way, and such was why three gifts had shown up at Laney’s house just a couple of days before. Marlin had forced himself to stay away from the bakery for forty-eight hours, but now seemed an appropriate time to go and make sure that everything had been delivered safely. He lingered outside of Arcadia’s Mon Cherry for a few minutes, second guessing himself, before he took a deep breath and came inside.
He didn’t look behind the counter. He kept his eyes on the ground, inching forward, hands in his pocket, posture slouched, until he could see the things on display. He glanced up, locked eyes with Laney, then looked down just as quickly, visibly awkward.
Among her crew, it was a well-known fact that Karen had quite the sweet tooth. It was dangerous. Even the mere sight of a bag of Skittles could send Karen into a frenzy until she had it in her mouth. For this reason alone, her crew often steered her away from the bakeries when they were on either island - it was for her own good.
They weren’t with her today.
Karen approached the bakery on Leuda as if in a dream, her eyes wide, her nose pressing against the window as she gazed toward the pies and cakes on display inside the shop. Heaven. She hurried indoors and pressed her hands into the counter, cheeks flushed with excitement.
“What is your favorite thing here?” she asked as she looked up at the blonde behind the counter, eyes sparkling.
[★] — Melody had been at Mon Cherry, eating cake and sorting through the vials of potion she made earlier that morning, wanting to make sure she had all of them with her, to show off to the guys over at the Emporium for later.
But when she opens up the sunshine vial to sniff, it accidentally slips from her fingers and topples over onto her slice of cake, pulling a panicked shriek out of the girl.
“Ohhhhh no! Oh no, oh no, oh nooooo!” Melody quickly swipes up the vial and grabs a napkin to dab up the spilled potion, but most of it had already soaked into the cake. Frowning, she knows there’s nothing she can do for it. But it would be a shame to have it go to waste... especially after the sweet baker had put so much time and work into baking it...
...but it was soaked in potion now...
She purses her lips, staring at it hesitantly before picking up her fork and slowly breaking a piece off of the cake, cautious as she brings it into her mouth. Her chewing starts off slow, but returns to a normal pace after a while, as she realizes that even with the potion it didn’t taste bad at all. In fact, it tasted heavenly.
“Wooooowie~!” The cake (or perhaps the potion) sends a surge of euphoria through her, and Melody jumps up from her seat, skipping over to the front counter where the head baker stood. “Hey, hey! Excuuuuse me~!”
When she gets the woman’s attention, she gives her a bright smile. “Do you mind if I check out your kitchen!? There’s something I wanna see.”
