apocalypse // apocatastasis
PSA: Not all Universalists are Unitarians. (Conversely, not all Unitarians are Universalists, though Unitarians within a particular faith tradition outside of UU are rarer in my experience). I believe that all beings will eventually be reconciled to God, but I do believe that Christ is the source and fulfillment of that reconciliation. Ergo, I am a Christian universalist. Someone could also be, say, a Muslim universalist or a Jewish universalist, for example, which would not make them any less inherently Muslim or Jewish, nor does me being a Christian universalist make me any less Christian.
For the record, I also have Unitarian Universalist friends whom I dearly love and respect, but our beliefs come from a different place and in most matters differ wildly. Where they overlap it’s for different theological reasons. Respect people’s religious particularity and don’t assume that just because they hold a particular belief that they’re exactly the same as a different group or as everyone else who holds that one belief.
This has been a PSA. Thank you.

is lee in the same as spandau ballet and roselyn?
Lee is in this episode with Joe Lycett, Griff Rhys Jones and Melanie Sykes. I heartily recommend it, it’s so so good. :)
remember
What does it really mean to have an open (not closed) Apocalypse? No-one should be surprised to see a movement as hypocritical as Trumpism a
The first distinguishing point between the two Apocalypses is the belief in human destruction, vs the belief in human flourishing, renewal and restoration.
When I was younger, I used to walk away from the idea of Christianity and hell even the belief of a God itself. How could a God so loving ever send my friends to ETERNAL hell for simply believing in different things? It goes against all purpose and meaning of life, of nuance, and I rejected it.
However, I have recently found myself walking back into Christianity, specifically universal salvation and the doctrine of apocatastasis. It’s funny how after all this time, that the original biblical texts practically encourage the idea of universal salvation, from Young’s literal to Rotherham’s emphasized, hell even to the NIV to some extent. It’s…really comforting to know.
I know that many people aren’t of belief here, this site tends to be a mire of suffering and pain these days, and I can’t help but feel embroiled in the anger, but it’s comforting to know that we will all be let into heaven once this reality is all over. From the blades of grass at our feet to our very own souls and to souls long past from across the entire universe, it’s nice to think we will be all okay in the end.
I hope to meet all those I love that are family and that I treat as if they’re family, to give them warm embraces and to play every day like we were meant to be. To explore and to love and to be bask in the victory of not just humanity but all life that has ever lived.
Amen.
