Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars
Healthy apple peanut oat bars 🌱 with peanut butter sauce 😋
Hey everyone! I had this recipe already typed up so here you go:
Oatmeal Apple Bar Recipe
Preheat oven to 375°
Topping/Crust:
-1 cup oats
-1 cup flour
-1 tsp cinnamon
-½ tsp baking powder
-⅔ cup brown sugar
-1 stick butter, cold
*To make gluten free, use gf all purpose flour and make sure your oats are gf. It doesn't change the texture or the flavor or anything :)*
Mix together all dry ingredients. Cut in butter with a fork or pastry knife until you don't have any chunks of butter. Press mixture into a lightly greased casserole dish or bar pan. Once you've added your filling (see below) make the mixture again and pour evenly over the top.
Filling:
-2 cans of apple filling (or fruit filling of your choice)
Cut fruit into small pieces. Pour over bottom crust, covering it completely.
*Note: you can't really move the filling around much once it's on the crust, because it will stick to the crust and make a mess. Don't put too much in one spot or you won't be able to cover the whole thing.*
Cook at 375° until edges are golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
