Happy new year, my loves... 🎆 As @aprilhillwriting once wrote, "Do not grow up. It is a trap." No wonder we vibe because our minds think alike. Last year, my bestie put out an array of art on their website. Of course, I loved them all and would have bought them all if I had was richer. But with shipping costs also an absurdity, I had to make do with what I had. So, I bought what stuck out to me. 'Multiply' was already taken, but I was drawn to another that read, "BE A KID FOREVER." If you know me well, you know I am a big kid. One who enthusiastically collects things that mean something to her. One who loves rhymes about just about anything; from the humble potato to the loves of her life. And one who still cuddles teddy bears and speaks in their respective voices on the daily. I sometimes wondered if this was an issue. But, as I get older, I come to realise that there is nothing wrong with not forgetting the little FRESCO within me. In Kassy Scarcia's opinion, a contributor at HuffPost and who wrote the insightful article, 'Why Acting Like a Big Kid Isn't Always A Bad Thing', "Kids have it right in a lot of ways. They are curious about the world around them. They are caring without expecting much in return. They laugh and smile at the simplest things. They enjoy spending time with the people they love and trust the most. They express their emotions when they feel them. They have such a zest for life and an unwavering joy. They see the world through hope colored lenses where anything is possible." And I agree that adults could benefit from embracing their inner child by, "...bringing our child-like ways with us into adulthood and growing into them rather than throwing them away altogether."
