Richard SWIFT! Been wanting to do this pun since starting doing the bird puns, finally managed to get some decent swift photos when I was on holiday :) Being a Shade fan has rocketed my love for these birds even higher, I'm now happily exclaiming "Dickie!" whenever I see one (already loved them for their little screaming though)

Decided to go for a more canon to the comics pride flag rather than me just hitting him with the aspec beam (I love you CW Stargirl season 2)

it is world swift day! there are over 100 types of swifts but most often you can recognise them by their sickle or boomerang shapes and very recognisable call. they can sleep, eat, bathe, and mate while in flight, and are known to stay in the air for very long stretches of time.

interesting but saddening, here’s a video from a nest cam where you can see one bring in plastic to add to its nest :(

I was so excited when I saw that I had finally managed to get a swift pic that wasn't a silhouette! It is really satisfying to get good shots of the aerial summer birds because of how hard it is to catch them in a clean shot like this.
