@keeper-of-the-lore has found this. Apparently, there were plans to reveal third Academy in New Super-Man and the Justice League of China - Cyborg Academy. It would form three Chinese Academies with Academy of the Bat and Academy of the Lantern to have one school for each of the founding member of New 52 League who are humans with advanced technology. Seeing how Kenan and Avery have been acknowledged as part of Super Family and Flash Family (Avery debuting in Flash first probably helped ofc) and with Yang at least setting the ground to have Deilan and Baixi eventually make their way into Diana’s larger mythos and Batfamily and Kwang-Jo joining the “when will they show up in Aquaman?” character list (somebody inform me if there will be any Reddit AMA or other way to ask questions to Dan Abnett, I want to ask him about possibility of Kwang-Jo and Jackson Hyde showing up in his series).... What I want to say is that potential Cyborg of China would likely eventually make it into Victor’s book. And seeing how I feel ever since making him part of the League DC really wants to establish his own, unrelated to Titans, mythos, that character had a chance for a bigger role. So a bummer, everyone loses on the fact it never was meant to be.

Have I mentioned I love the team-dynamics in this book?

New Super-Man and the Justice League of China #22 provides many twists and turns. For one Baixi goes behind everyone’s back and sells Kwang-Jo to Green Lantern Corps of China, that backfires horribly and he gets captured himself...and in one cell with two worst roomies possible, Anathema and Alpaca (for a reminder, his own Bane and Joker counterparts). Kenan meanwhile gets overtaken by All-Yang and becomes ruthless and supremely smug as a result, his worst fear coming true. And Kwang-Jo himself goes full Golden Age Namor on North Korea, as in he tries to unleash a tidal wave and drown the entire country. I guess it’s not up to Avery and Deilan to save the day since at the same time all guys in the group went and flipped on the asshole switch for completely unrelated reasons.

Overall, many twists and turns this provides makes this issue an entertaining read that keeps you hooked for more and I was happy to see Alpaca and Anathema back.

New Super-Man and the Justice League of China #20 - introducing Kwang-Jo Aqua-Man of North Korea in a scene that would fit in a seinen manga.

Wait, when did Kenan and Mingming hook up again? I don’t think they even went further than ocassional flirting and I’m shipping trash.

New Super-Man and the Justice League of China #21 introduces our heroes to their greatest opponent yet - LOVE TRIANGLES! No seriously, though most of the issue I was thinking they’re setting up a love triangle involving Deilan, Baixi and Kwang-Jo - Wonder-Woman is the  one to rescue Kwang-Jo from Korean forces and convinces others to take him in after giving her word to two friendly crabs to protect him (by the way, crabs were heroes to the end ;_; ) and later shows him that his government lied how horrible life outside North Korea is and he did mistook her for an Angel. Meanwhile, Baixi gets to play the role of one who keeps pointing out that if for one guy they fuck up relationships between North Korea and only country it still respects and listens to, the results could be disastrous. This feels like a setup for a love triangle... and then they suddenly drop a completely different love triangle between Avery, Kenan and Mingming that comes out of nowhere.

Okay, going back to Kwang-Jo, he gets to meet a very famous character from Korean mythology and history. King Munmu of Silla. In this version he really did become a dragon after his death but now is long dead in this form too, so his ghost chooses Kwang-Jo as his descendant to be a champion to free Korea from the Communist regime. He gets to look freaking badass as this champion, the Dragonson, although people pointed out his color scheme resembles more Ocean Master than Aquaman. I for one am excited to get more Korean mythology and history, it’s so rarely touched upon in comics and it’s such a rich subject.
