Well, guess this would be my first post...
Well, hi everyone. As I mentioned I am an avid runner and I am currently injured. Nothing too serious but something that merits me taking some time off unfortunately. I am having major withdrawals already and I am honestly terrified of gaining any weight. I am cleared to do the elliptical, biking, swimming. I think I may get an aquajogger so that I can at least feel like I am running and getting a better workout in. I am not much of a swimmer but I have been biking and using the elliptical as well as doing abs and stretching. I am going to really start paying attention to exactly what I am putting in my body so that I am not guilty and do not have to worry about weight gain. I think I am going to use this blog as a tool to connect with other runners and also to air my thoughts and receive support as well. So with that being said, here is what I ate today:
breakfast: 1.5 packets of oatmeal with blueberries, walnuts and cinnamon with coffee (just cream)
I don't usually eat lunch but here is what I had as a snack- 2 slices of watermelon
Dinner: half of a pita stuffed with spinach, onion, tomato, cheese and mustard with bean soup on the side and some more watermelon
Snack: few squares of dark chocolate
exercise today: 40 min on the elliptical, 20 min on the stationary bike, 30 min bike ride around my neighborhood, 25 min of shooting hoops at the gym (i did not run), ab exercises and stretching.
Has anyone had any experience with using an aquajogger? I am scared I will look like a fool. Fortunately my gym has a pool so I do have access to the water. I am just not sure where to start. Man I cannot wait to be able to run again, this is torture. Nothing compares to running. :(
