Uh oh is putting it lightly Arrowhead! [Green Lantern #8, 2006]
[HEADCANON] When Clint Barton fires a gun while he’s in the field, in the heat of the moment he will pull his free arm back while bringing up the gun in a motion much like him drawing his bow. He’s ambidextrous and can do this with either hand, but since he tends to fire his bow left handed, nine times out of ten he’ll shoot a gun with his right hand [left handed archers hold the riser in their right hand and pull the string with their left]. In this gif, he’s actually firing with his less dominant hand (if only by a fraction) which was why he missed.
Hmm, want facial piercings but I'm an archer
Archer problem
U wanna shoot but your apartment is too small and the nearest range is 137 miles away
how I thought it would go down
me:*walking around as Hawkeye, like a badass*
volunteer security d-bag: "hey, you look dangerous, I should throw you out"
me:"bro, see this arrow right here? it's the only one that comes out of the quiver. rest are glued in, I defy you to show me how they're dangerous"
him:"okay but-"
me:"you know anything about archery?"
him:"..."
me:"thought so, let me teach you a thing. this clip thing here? called the nock, holds the arrow on the string. you might notice it's broken. no nock, no shooting. lemme show you"
me:*draws arrow point-blank at dude's nose*
me:*looses string*
arrow:*falls uselessly to the floor*
me:"so as you can see, the only way I could do any harm to anybody is if I dropped this stuff right now and kicked your ass for harassing me. savvy?"
him:"these aren't the droids we're looking for, move along"
how it really happened
me:*walking around with bow improperly strung, ergo totally harmless*
volunteer security d-bag:"did you get that approved at weapon check?"
me:"yeah dude, got the stamp right here on my pass"
him:*continues to harass me with the same question over and over and over*
me:*doesn't want to cause a scene/get thrown out*
him:*continues being belligerent jerkwad*
me:*tugs useless bowstring with 0 resistance*
me:"it's fine"
me:*leaves*
If I never have to fletch another arrow, it will be too God damn soon. The fletching glue has gave me a headache. On the bright side they’re all done and they should be well and truely dry and ready to fire by Tuesday evening!
Well...
That’s the last time I try my hand at Archery in the rain. After coming home soaked through from what started out as a drizzle and then fell into full on heavy rain. I’ve managed to dry out a majority of my gear, I’ve even strung my bow so the string has a chance to dry out a little. Then I got around to my arrows and upon opening and upending my arrow tube I found most of my arrows have lost their fletchings in the tube. I only used 6 out of 16 but some how every single arrow seems to have lost it’s fletchings. I guess the moisture in the tube must have loosened them all and they came off when I was carrying my gear bag or I hadn’t fletched them well enough, but some of them were store-fletched so this shouldn’t have happened... Or possibly I shouldn’t have 16 arrows in a single tube? Advice?
In anycase I now have to refletch all my arrows and it’s gonna take forever and I have work early in the morning ):
