Temperance Jacquard, and her beloved steed, Red Duke.
Realised that I never actually drew Tempa before but here (throws this at you but I did it waiting for Suhur meaning I didn't sleep so my aim is a little off and no one will ever see it). Original sketch below if anyone cares, low-key sucks butt fart.
For anyone that recognises peak, yes I gave her the post-apocalyptic boots I keep seeing everywhere as a trend to make.
The drawstring bag is actually from an 1863 pattern that I added her own flair to, since these would've been made yourself to customise. I truly believe this woman used pulled threads from clothes to slowly braid into a cord for this bag. Also the blanket has a anchor pattern and fish very faintly, in ode to her past fishing-based lifestyle. If you make clothes or know anything about weaving, you will recognise that the blanket is a Jacquard loom, like her name.
In Red Duke's hair, I put blue and red jasper beads with carved wooden ones because she would want her steed to feel protected and closer to her. The wooden beads are definitely hand carved that she'd do to pass time and then put into his hair. Like her bracelet, I put cowrie shells in her locs. I wanted her to feel royal. To repeat her ability to braid and cord, her bracelets beneath are leather and colourful thread.
Probably not as visible as I want it to be but I gave her leg of mutton sleeves, which very popular in the 1890s. I can't remember if we saw any examples in the game, but I adore them so I couldn't resist.
Original sketch like I promised. This what art is about. Cooking. Letting it marinate. Taking your time. Letting it suck first.
