🇮🇹⛰️ Landslides in Italy: Evacuations and Damaged Roads

⚠️ In the town of Niscemi, Sicily, around 500 residents were evacuated after a landslide damaged a key access road, raising concerns that parts of the city could be cut off.

🪨 The landslide occurred in the Sante Croci area near the Beneficio stream, affecting a section of provincial road SP10, one of the main links to the city center. The collapse is estimated to be about 6 meters deep.

🚧 Authorities activated the local emergency operations center, while geologists are assessing whether this event is linked to another slope collapse recorded on January 16 in a nearby area.

📍 Meanwhile, rockfalls were also reported in Liguria, near Arenzano, where stones blocked a section of the Aurelia coastal road.

🌧️⛰️ The series of landslides highlights growing risks to infrastructure amid unstable weather conditions.
