what's the first book you'd recommend rohan to read and why?

(I am assuming here that he can heaven's door himself to read english fluently)

the first option I'd suggest is The Invention of Hugo Cabret--

this book completely changed the concept illustration and books because the story cannot be understood without the pictures. images tell part of the story that words do not (there are 2 other books he's done in this style as well--Wonderstruck and The Marvels, as well as a side collection of short stories/poetry)

I think it would capture his imagination as much as it captured mine the first time I read it 🥺 I love when a book completely changes how you think stories can be told.

if he wants something a little more technical, I'd tell him to read Enchanted Objects

this was written before the surge of ai but when people were considering how much tech should be added to every day objects (2014). it discussed the tradeoff of privacy for convenience. I think Rohan would enjoy it as worldbuilding for Pink Dark Boy and a perspective from before tech became more surveillance oriented and data collection focused.

Rohan has a mixture of pokemon types but one of the pokemon he has is bonsly.
