So this is the first comic I’ve posted on here that isn’t about gender identity at all. But I do think about other things sometimes, and, y’know... it’s my blog.

In a previous comic I’ve talked about being asexual, but I haven’t talked about being aromantic, even though that arguably affects my life more. This comic was inspired by this jacket design, which uses the idea of ‘red string of fate’ which is said to connect you with your ‘soul mate’ or destined partner. On the jacket the string has one loose end, representing the aromantic person’s lack of desire or need for a lover, but I thought it’d be funnier to have it connected to my other hand. I’m not gonna marry myself though - that person has too many annoying habits. It just represents my chosen life of being single.

Unlike some aromantic people, who may want a platonic partner (or even to be in a romantic relationship) I don’t want to centre my life around one person, even a best friend. I’d rather have a group of different people to love and care about, who in turn have other important people in their lives.
