Photo of specific aro phobia below cut
Text ID: Photo begins a line before user elfyprincess' reblog. The final text line of the previous post reads, "aromantic bisexuals are so cool". Elfyprincess revlogged, posting "Unpopular opinion: 'aromanticism' is unhealthy. It is the result of pornography and hookup culture. Sex should always involve emotional intimacy.
You're not an 'aromantic bisexual.' You're an emotionally stunted bisexual." End Text ID
Listen, I don't know how to explain it to you that this such puritanical and r/adf/em ideology bs, but I know it is.
The warmest bowls of soup and the toastiest mugs of tea and all the spoons to @spacelazarwolf for taking people like this on
So...someone DMed me bemoaning that yet another person (me in this case, as it was a specific reblog of mine on a post) was claiming that “cishets” (read: cis asexual homoromantic or heterosexual aromantic people) belong in the LGBT community. A couple hours later, they realized they sent this to ME instead of their friend like they meant to and hastily apologized, clearly very embarrassed. They then went on to write a slightly longer apology, explaining that despite our difference of opinion, they truly sent it to me by accident and meant no ill intent. They also apparently blocked me at some point in this saga.
This all happened before I got online after work, and I could NOT be more amused.
So my English teacher was aro/ace phobic today...I don't think he actually meant to be, it's probably more about lack knowledge then ignorance, but telling students that they need a partner to survive life is just plain ridiculous and harmful.
