Tbh both with Darius/Alador and with Willow/Hunter I think they purposefully left things just vague enough that you could interpret them any way you want since they know there’s a lot of both platonic shippers and romantic shippers (there was a lot of fan service in the episode, they clearly know their viewers and it’s sweet of them to include those bits)

I just feel like we all know who they’re mostly catering to, in the end, which makes me kinda sad, but I’m still glad we could see it how we want

both romantically and sexually. BUT if you want to be more accurate, you’d have to tweak a couple things.

For starters, learn the difference between aromantic and asexual. Someone who is Aromantic does not typically experience romantic attraction to others, but can still experience sexual attraction. On the other hand, someone who is asexual does not typically experience sexual attraction to others, but can still be romantically attracted to them.

If Darius is somewhere on the aroace spectrum, many people believe he is more likely on the aromantic side of it, or possibly both. Now, to properly write this into his character if you’re making a fanfic where he is in a relationship or likes someone, here are some things you can do.

Keep the “I love yous” to a minimum. He can say it, but instead of leaning into the LOVE aspect, try to focus more on him saying he LIKES someone rather than loves them (romantically ofc. He can still say he loves the camp fam, because, well, that’s his family. The love is different/ref). I know some aromantic people that have trouble experiencing love towards people, but can still like and be attracted to them.

Show him trying to understand how he feels about certain people. Some aromantic people have a hard time differentiating platonic affection from romantic affection, and this is something that is often shown in his character (him not knowing if what he feels for Brooklynn is love, not being able to pick up on yasammy cues, etc).

Keep in mind that him being aromatic doesn’t mean he can’t be in a romantic relationship, but it might not have the same aspects as other relationships in the show. From my perspective, he seems to be okay with physical contact and intimacy, but not all aromantic people are. The main difference between a relationship with him and other characters is that he might be less verbal about his feelings and have a harder time explaining how he feels about someone.

Most importantly, remember that these are all suggestions Incase you want to make your story with aspects of him being aroace. Fanfics do not have to follow any set of rules and it’s all for fun, and the fun of it is that it doesn’t have to be canon at all. Play around with his character as much as you want!

Cuz guys.. that’s not the point. We DID get Dinostar to an extent. Just because it didn’t go the way you wanted doesn’t mean you have to ignore all other developments in their dynamic. I’m not disappointed, not in the slightest. I’m actually extremely happy with its outcome.

aroace Darius has been there all along and I can’t believe I’m just now seeing it.

from the moment in nublar that Ben said he loved Darius and he just responded with “we make quite a pair, huh?” it’s been foreshadowed.

also, when he accidentally said he loved Brooklynn and she was so shocked? I know the camp fam has said they love her hundreds of times platonically, so her reaction to him saying “I love you” implies that isn’t normal for him to say.
