Alice Oseman teaming with Spotify to make an aroace playlist 🧡💛🤍🩵💙
Aros/arospecs of Tumblr, suggest some songs to me that you find aro-coded, or [insert] attraction-coded, and I'll see if I can add it to my Spotify aromantic playlist!
Here's the link to my playlist to check out what I already have, though it's kind of long as shit: A Gift From A Loveless Something
I made an aroace playlist! I only have 5 songs added at the moment ans I'd love to see what anyone else adds!
Let me know if the link doesn't work
Also, don't feel like you have to be aro and ace to join, ace or arospec either is totally fine!
acted on the aroace urge to make all the love songs about my friends and made a playlist about it <33
Aromantic Punk Playlist*
*Includes classic, pop/skate, modern
The first in my alternative genre aromantic playlists series is punk. All songs are not romance-centered, as i understand and interpret them. Feel free to add on! This list is by no means exhaustive but it is long and most of these bands have many more non-romance songs! Turns out most punk songs are romance-free.
Key: * = ambiguous/could be about a friend; ** = lust or sex is a theme; (E) = explicit (in case minors see this list); (D) = drug/alcohol mention or allusion

For the aro-specs (aroallos and aroaces), relatable alloroaces, relationship anarchists, and romance-diverse non-aspecs! You are not broken; it's the world we live in that is. [Cover is a piece of art of the aro flag made by Patrick Hiller]
This playlist is still on-going and a personal ""project"" of mine. I've been collecting music either made by actual aro artists, or I've been collecting music that detail a very aromantic experience (even if the artist themself isn't aro), or gives off aro vibes. I've tried to encapsulate many different aromantic experiences on this playlist, such as: aplatonic aros; romo aros; aros in marriages and/or who have kids; etc, but I've sadly haven't found so many songs for those experiences. Regardless, I can only hope this will speak to people both in and outside of the aromantic community, and helps you, my dear reader, know that you're not alone, that there are so many people out there who have had non-normative experiences across time, and that us a-specs have too existed since forever.
Aromantic 80s Synthpop Playlist
The second in my alternative genre aromantic playlists series is 80s synthpop. All songs are not romance-centered, as i understand and interpret them. Feel free to add on! Be prepared for lots of New Order because they are amazing and because most of their songs are intentionally ambiguous anyway. This was more difficult than the punk one, turns out romance is a common theme in all kinds of pop but I promise the new wave one will be long to make up for this.
