The aroace urge to be such an awesome friend that your friend subconsciously compares all their romantic interests to you & none of them ever measure up.
happy pride month to my fellow non-bitch needers
A thing we could do better this Pride month: In quick summaries of queer histories, do not toss in a throw away line about how âlesbians took care of gay men dying of aidsâ.
Lesbians were also getting hiv/aids and dying from it and taking care of themselves and their community.
Women faced extra challenges when they got sick, because the CDC ignored symptoms seen mostly in women in their aids definition and locked women with aids out of lifesaving disability benefits. Trans women faced additional challenges on top of that and fought additional battles to get access to health care and disability benefits.
Lesbians were central to ACT UP, planning and participating in many daring direct actions in the fight for hiv/aids health care, and they brought with them years of experience from feminist activism around health care. Lesbians were on the front line in EVERY SINGLE big action around hiv/aids health care.
Lesbian hiv/aids history should not be reduced to nursing gay men. I love every lesbian that did that, nursing matters so much and they are all heroes. But this can not be the only story we tell. Lesbians are not supportive characters in gay menâs history.Â
acted on the aroace urge to make all the love songs about my friends and made a playlist about it <33
You're allowed to find pride in your asexuality and aromanticism. I know it can be difficult, between people not knowing or believing it exists and people who might accept that it exists but will always see it as pitiful and insignificant, something to be silent about, something shameful or "tmi", something to mention as an afterthought. But aromanticism will always be far more complex and far-reaching and life altering and significant than people who brush it off as "doesn't date" are able to understand, and asexuality will always be more nuanced and eye-opening and liberating than people who brush it off as "doesn't have sex" will ever understand. You're allowed to find meaning in these labels and in the communities surrounding them, and you're allowed to show pride for who you are.
two bros chillin' in a hot tub five feet apart cuz they're aspec
I am ace in a very distinct way that I like to call "window shopping"
I CAN admire the dress but I don't want to take it home with me, y'feel? I feel you can call someone sexy without implying you wanna jump their bones.
Anyway, this just came on recently cause someone got confused about how I was ace but still found a guy hot. Like yo my dude, I am just Admiring what has been placed before me
It's also kind of like... When a food dish you LOATH is placed in front of you but it was prepared REALLY nicely. Like WOW that DOES actually look a bit appetizing but I still don't like this dish so I simply must decline
rivals to lovers but make it two aroace people. friends to lovers but make it two aroace people. enemies to lovers but make it two aroaxe people. just give me all the tropes and make it aroace, I will give you all my money đĽ°
I AM WRITING A BOOK WITH THE FAKE DATING / MARRIAGE TROPE BUT THEYRE AROACE AND AROALLO SAJDADJHDJGDH
damn i'm visible again today guess i can't do crime :/
Having creative freedom is so amazing bc I can write a novel where every single main character is aspec and no one can do anything about it.
Like and reblog if your account is a safe space for trans lesbians. It feels like trans lesbians in particular get shamed and ridiculed a lot by people in and out of the community. If youâre reading this I want to let you know youâre valid and I hope your safe and doing well.
I think that one of the things about being aroace for me is the realization that I actually would like a partner, but it isnât a viable option. I want someone to cook for and cuddle and share life with, someone to be my person. But I donât experience attraction, so I cannot offer the bare minimum that anyone the slightest bit allo expects from a long-term relationship. And some days I feel like I can make peace with that, but some days it feels like the end of the world.
