B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?Absolutely, hard yes! I have had some very enjoyable experiences, both NSFW & SFW, in the time I’ve walked this earth, and I’ve written some of them into my self-inserts/OFC fics. They’ve been embellished, of course, but they’re very much in there.

On a more grim note, and this is all I will say on the subject, writing dark fic (specifically dubcon/noncon) has helped me cope with certain traumatic life events, which has been integral to my healing and the reclamation of my fierce sexuality and confidence. It’s important–especially in this age of Internet mob justice, receipt culture, and hive-mind, public crucifixions–to remind folks that survivors use creative/artistic expression to process and cope with trauma, and however that expression manifests is fine for each individual. Trust me, we don’t need to be bullied or policed–we know it’s fucked up, and we’ve tagged it appropriately, because we are considerate of those whose experiences might be different from our own, so just keep scrolling.

I love writing fic for so many reasons, but being able to incorporate my own experiences (both pleasant and otherwise) and fantasies into a creative outlet that not only helps me process (and sometimes purge) emotions, but also hones my skill as a writer, is right at the top. Generating my own personal fap material is also pretty awesome.
