I have more ideas, I was talking to some friends at work who are also fans and we just started creating random courts. But I just put 3 down for now

Damon Albarn got on Zoom with me to talk about his solo album The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows, but before any of that, he surprised me by playing “Happy Birthday” on piano. Not a bad way to start an interview.

What grabbed me was how much the record leans into place—specifically Iceland—and how he let the environment dictate everything. As he put it, the idea was to “take some musicians up to Iceland and just stare out of a particular window… and play the landscape.” That turned into a record shaped by weather and isolation.

He talked a lot about vibration—how music, geography, and even memory all sit in the same space. “You need to be able to forget yourself,” he told me, and that’s where the work starts to happen. That idea runs through everything here, from volcanic landscapes to the way he describes songs as particles that never fully leave a place once they’re made.

And Gorillaz. And Blur.

My DSMP Content

For some clarification and to explain some of the moves I have been making that have been happening over the last few months. Anything and everything I had to do with DSMP has been put away and will probably never be brought out of the memory chest again.

Fics have been hidden or removed from ao3, and this is the permanent move. Apologize to anyone that was attached to the fics and was hoping for them to continue. I won't be answering or interacting with anything to do with the dsmp from this point on.
