Things I Miss #5
So I’m not ready to re-watch yet but I miss what was my favourite show - so I’m reflecting. Thanks so much for those who made the gifs!

The Hōzen Through The Seasons
1x01 || It's a Hozen and in Buddhism, it symbolizes reconnecting.
1x05 || And you gave me this. I mean, it's an arrowhead.
2x02 || And my brother gave me that when he came back from the dead. Said it was a Hozen...some Buddhist thing that symbolizes reconnecting.
2x07 || It has a Buddhist inscription on one side. It reminded me of my father.
5x08 || It's called a Hozen. It symbolizes reconnecting...It's a very thoughtful gesture from your amazingly loving sister.
7x01 || It’s a symbol of re-connection. Oliver gave it to Thea and she gave it to me before she left. As long as you have this, I will always be able to find you.
Arrow Rewatch 2018 1x05 Damaged
- Oliver's first time shooting an arrow on the island. Not a natural talent lol.
- He's wearing the same sweater as in 6x23.
- I thought Laurel knew Oliver so well, yet he's not capable of wanting to help people?
- getting arrested was all part of his plan. At least the show acknowledged the obviousness of Oliver's return coinciding with the appearance of the hood.
- Diggle in the foundry...he's like a kid in the candy store lol.
- Pandaman!!!!!!
- Poor Quentin. He was right all along.
- I think that's the first time Oliver admitted to being tortured on the island. Also...he didn't kill Sara!
- once again, I'm really glad that we never got to know pre-island Ollie.
- Dig='I'm the one guy you don't lie to.'
- it took Laurel 5 episodes to wonder what might have happened to Oliver on the island. Wow. That's true love right there, people.
- that whole scene in the bedroom was just icky. They have zero chemistry. No matter how hard Stephen tries.
- I love plain clothes Oliver fight scenes.
- Moira 'I'm truly sorry for what's happened to your family, but would you kindly get the hell out of my house' Queen.
- 'If any member of my family so much as gets a papercut...I will burn your entire world to ashes.' I miss Susanna Thompson.
- Malcolm tried to have Oliver killed. Quell surprise.
- This episode just makes me want Oliver to have Felicity in his life so much. He needs his happy story.
- I'm finding it a struggle to get through the la*river scenes. I'm so bored. I think this is why I quit the show the first time around after only a few episodes. Guess who brought me back?
She really did save the show for me.
Rating: ☆☆☆ I found myself thinking about 6x23 too much because of this episode.

alli’s Arrow 1x05 rewatch thoughts
all random thoughts:
Still doing voiceovers, I see. I think this might actually be the last one ever. Thank goodness.
I find it interesting that Oliver’s like, “She knows me better than anyone. She knows I could never be this vigilante guy.” Hmm. Okay, Oliver...so you’re admitting that no one actually knows the real you, including Laurel.
DAYUM Moira used the “my son is smitten with you” line to manipulate Laurel into representing Oliver!
The invitations will say: “Come before Oliver Queen gets off” okay LMAO how have I never noticed the sexual implications of that line before?? I guess because he says it so innocently, and in front of him mom lol. But, I mean...yeah.
The scene where Dig comes to Oliver’s bedroom and they discuss vigilante-related stuff is actually a really cool moment. This is the first time they’re actually working as a team. It’s interesting that they’re not more awkward, and it’s cool how quickly they gel as partners in the mission. Dig doesn’t really blink - once he joins up, he’s all in. And then when he goes into the foundry on his own and really gets a look, that’s basically the only time we ever see him impressed.
Ughhh Oliver “looking at life in prison” with “family, friends, people who care about him” so “don’t think for one second that [he’s] the only person with something to lose here…” it’s so painful :( Because after everything, after 6 years, after so much character growth, and death, and the development of so many important relationships, somehow we’re right back here again.
Aaaand i’mma skip the torture scene. Fyers is so freaking annoying though. “You’re a poor liar.” (first time someone’s said that, of many times.)
MY GOD THE GREY SWEATER.
Polygraph scene. All I can think is: HEART RATE lolol 😭 oh no, Lance 😭😭😭 Mmmkay this scene is still moving.
Dig: “I’m the one guy you don’t lie to!” TELL HIM, DIG. I don’t think Oliver really internalizes it, though.
Laurel just walked in and I suddenly remembered that they’re going to have that gross kiss scene in Oliver’s bedroom. I just...can’t. “In the end, there was something I wanted more.” OLIVER GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF. YOUR FIXATION ON LAUREL IS UNHEALTHY AND SO IS HERS ON YOU.
Why is the last time Laurel was in his room 2005? When he left on the boat in 2007? 🤨
Meanwhile Oliver’s really lucky that Lance got Merlyn’s assassin with a killshot - would have been awkward for everyone if that guy got arrested instead.
Laurel: “Oliver, nothing can ever happen between us.” Oliver: “I know.” EXACTLY. Stick to that!
Dig: “When you were stuck on that island, plotting your grand plan to save the city, I don’t think you stopped to consider the effect it would have on the people in your life. Or how it might hurt them” Meh. This has always been Oliver’s struggle, but he has made huge strides - and then the writers sometimes conveniently choose to forget those strides. 😑

My Favourite Arrow Moments
In honour of the 150th episode of Arrow I thought it couldn’t hurt to reminisce about some of my favourite moments of Arrow - based on the gifs available ;) I’m starting to think this is simply stuff I miss BIG TIME.

Arrow Rewatch 2018: 1x05
Quick Thoughts:
- This twist of arresting Oliver so early on in the series was brilliant and the fact that he planned it to throw suspicion off himself - genius
- Why does Laurel always think Oliver doesn’t care about his family?
- Watching the flashbacks, I’m reminded of how they didn’t happen this year and we were promised something in their place - did that turn out to be NTA?
- Anyone else think it’s odd that Oliver just decided to throw a bash at the Queen mansion without clearing it with his mother first?
- Oliver quasi shirtless...so Laurel can be repulsed by his scars
- Grrr Laurel
- I hurt for Oliver
- Look at Oliver taking out all those men BY HIMSELF - and people thought it was impossible this year....

in 1x05 when Oliver is getting his tracking anklet put on he tells Moira “It’s not that bad”. Because in his head.... He’s not locked in cell bleeding onto the ground from a gunshot wound or a shark bite. He’s not strapped to a chair in a basement. He’s not tied to a post in the dark after being tortured. He’s not in a cage so small he can’t sit up straight. He’s not chained to the ceiling by his wrists. Yeah... a tracking anklet that won’t let him go onto the lawn is not that bad.
