Not DC, but as I already wrote a few days ago, I started catching up on Naruto/Boruto again because I grew up with it and the western fandom not understanding Sakura's part in the story makes me so mad.

I don't think Naruto/Boruto treats or writes female characters well. But some common takes in the fandom are simply insane. Yeah, it's a fighting shonen, but without Sakura being an excellent and caring medic Naruto, Sasuke and countless other characters would be dead. Several times over in fact. A medic is never useless. Also, Naruto and Sasuke getting jealous over Sakura's admiration is such a major driving point of their rivalry in part one, how can you miss that? The writer even went so far to replicate the love triangle dynamic in several other teams in that story to drive the point home. And hating on Sakura for keeping her love for Sasuke while praising Naruto for never giving up on saving his friend is simply not fair. The last arc of Naruto even spelled it out through Kakashi that Sakura's love was about wanting to save him, not about making him her boyfriend.
