worked on several projects this night -priming paper for a new textured warecolor and ink painting -the paper gets primed with acrylic emulsion, dolomite and Carrara marble powder and ground Swabian Alb Jurassic slate - making new watercolors from red Jasper stone - testing a new Chinese calligraphic ink brush and and French kind watercolor brushes -I tested the brushes on old earth color sketches from summer. Those swatches in letter size I will scan later. I intend using them for making new digital paintings ( programs Artrage and Rebelle mostly, also GIMP sometimes). -other paintings waiting to be painted with more layers of acrylic colors, watercolors, pigments and inks. I set them up on an easel to check them out when I walk by at different times of the day in different lightiing, so I can see mistakes and get ideas how to go on later. -testing a new kind of hot pressed watercolor paper from Hahnemuehle ("harmony") with sized surface. Lookes like this kind of paper will be very good for a certain style of ink paintings with delicate lines and washes. CZ ⤫ Richard Loskot patří mezi nejvýraznější osobnosti současné české umělecké scény. Je vedoucím ateliéru designu prostředí na liberecké fakultě umění a architektury, kde sám i dříve absolvoval. Čtyřikrát byl nominován na prestižní Cenu Jindřicha Chalupeckého pro vizuální umělce do 35 let a pravidelně vystavuje u nás i v zahraničí. Jeho tvorba je založena na procesuálnosti, vytváření situací a prostředí, která pracují s možnostmi lidského vnímání a technologickými výdobytky současnosti. Na Richardovu světelnou instalaci je zapotřebí si vyčkat do soumraku. Jeho světelné obrazy dávají vybraným místům nový rozměr a význam, naplňují je. Vytváří korálky náhrdelníku Chrudimky, jež vás proti proudu řeky dovedou až do jiného světa.

ENG ⤫ Richard Loskot is among the most notable figures on the Czech contemporary art scene. He leads a studio of environmental design at the Faculty of Arts and Architecture in Liberec, from which he also graduated. He was nominated for the prestigious Jindřich Chalupecký Award for visual artists under thirty-five four times and he regularly exhibits both in the Czech Republic and abroad. His work is based on process, creating situations and environments which work with the possibilities of human perception and the technological breakthroughs of the present. One has to wait until dusk to see Richard’s light installation. His light images give new dimensions and meanings to the selected locations, fulfilling them. They create the corals of Chrudimka’s necklace, and against the stream, they can take you all the way to another world.
