Headcanon for dating Artemis, please?

It took her a long while to let herself trust you. She has a secret fear of being rejected but also is terrified of letting herself be vulnerable around you.

She’d never admit that of course, she still cares about you and doesn’t act coldly all the time; it’s just at first she never lets you see her upset and often brushed you off when there was something wrong or bothering her.

However, once you reach a certain point, she does open up and let you see that side of her, which is honestly the moment both of you realized that you never wanted anyone else but each other

She very sarcastic and is always lightheartedly teasing you about stuff, it’s honestly kind of her way of flirting.

There’s also soooo meany inside jokes between you two. Honestly it got to the point where you two would just start giggling in the middle of a debriefing of a mission or when you were hanging at the cave all the time

Everyone else on the team silently (or in the case of Robin/Nightwing, not so silently) supports your relationship and thinks you two are the cutest

She knows you can handle your own and isn’t super protective but she does insist on being in the same squad as you on any mission (doesn’t even care if it’s delta squad with the “soft” jobs, if you’re on delta she’s on delta)

Jenna: People who over enunciate to either her or Karin because obviously that’s what they need. She usually, and quickly, corrects this behavior. And if that doesn’t work someone ends up with a broken nose.

Bonus Jenna: Orange juice with the pulp. Seriously wtf is wrong with you people? And people who try to get her to talk after learning what she can do. What part of ‘I’m scared of my powers and don’t wanna do the thing’ do you assholes not get?

Karin: When someone brings in a fucking wheelchair or braille menu after learning she’s deaf. If she’s with Erik the Clone she can forgive the braille menu because hey at least he got the proper menu.

Erik: The fact that he can’t talk about his mental illnesses. Just talk with someone about it. He feels like he’d just be bothering people but part of him realizes people would want to help him. Actually this doesn’t piss him off so much as frustrate him to no end. I have a feeling that at some point he’ll end up asking one of his former teammates to ask someone to lend him a hand.

Didge: The fact that if you contact a comic company about taking you off the roster they’ll either say ‘Frick no you sell too well’ or they’ll kill you off horribly for manpain’s sake. In her case it’s the former, and it freaks her out when she sees all the people roleplaying as her, or rather her (inaccurate) comic self and she feels that she can’t say anything or else she’ll get outed and the safe place she’s made for herself’ll be gone. Also feelings of helplessness, because mutants are compared to supers for the sake of reliability to those who don’t understand them she feels like she shouldn’t be helpless. She’s a superhero after all right? Superheroes aren’t supposed to be weak.

Vanessa: People who don’t treat her like she’s a thinking being. She’s a program sort of but she does think and feel or at least she believes she does and would very much like to be treated as such

Artemis headcanons (applies to all verses)

Symptoms of her not feeding for various amounts of time (subject to alteration and not based on any medical knowledge because I don’t think any real world equivalent exists though do correct me if I’m wrong):

1 week: slight paleness, irritability, slight disorientation and difficulty focusing.

2 weeks: noticable paleness, lethargy, extreme difficulty focusing, memory issues, difficulty walking and standing, instinct tends to take over forcing her to feed on anything that gets close (because of this she will withdraw from others to keep them safe). Force feeding is highly recommended at this point. 

Note: It is uncommon for her to let it go this long but it does happen from time to time.

3 weeks: she will slip into a coma as her organs begin to shut down, at this point an immediate transfusion is necessary to ensure her survival. 

Note: she rarely if ever ends up going this long. She only ever let it happen once. Never again.

Important note about Artemis:

No one other than Charles, Erik (as they got her in the first place), Hank, and a few of the security personnel (for the safety of everyone else) know about Artemis needing to drink blood. 

Unless your character catches her feeding (like Frank Hardy did) they will not know. She goes to great lengths to keep it this way as she doesn’t want people to be frightened of her.
