In astronomy, Kepler’s laws of planetary motion are three scientific laws describing the motion of planets around the Sun.
1. The orbit of every planet is an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci.
2. A line joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time.
3. The square of the orbital period of a planet is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit.
Radio astronomy is a subfield of astronomy that studies celestial objects at radio frequencies. The initial detection of radio waves from an astronomical object was made in the 1930s,when Karl Jansky observed radiation coming from the Milky Way. Radio telescopes 🔭 may need to be extremely large in order to receive signals with high signal to noise ratio.
Halley’s Comet, officially designated 1P/Halley, is the best known of the short period Comets and is visible from Earth every 75-76 years and is expected again in 2061. Halley was the first comet to be recognized as periodic. The Giotto and Vega missions gave planetary scientists their first view of Halley’s surface and structure.
