Hi!! Your posts really helped me alot so thank you very much for the logical approach on shifting. I tried OBE after seeing your post on it and had an out of body experience on the very first try.
I fully left my body and sat up in my astral body. Then I wanted to get up and walk but I felt scared and hesitant. I woke up instantly from that experience. I've tried to do it again but I just keep getting in my own way. I always seem to do this when it comes to shifting, void, lucid dreaming etc. I do it first try and then become scared and self-sabotage. Could you give me any tips on what to do?

1) Why this happens to you (fear + sabotage)
What you're experiencing is very common and actually makes perfect psychological sense.
When we succeed right away (like you did with your OBE), the brain can go:
> "Wait, this is real? Am I safe?"
The limbic system (responsible for fear) reacts before the rational brain can process. It's not your fault, it’s your brain trying to protect you, even if there’s no real danger.
This leads to self-sabotage through hesitation, overthinking, or waking up.
You are not broken. Your mind is just adapting to something new and profound.

2) Open up to new styles,drop the pressure
Try experimenting with fun or relaxed approaches. The more playful you are, the less your fear center activates. For example:
Imagine you're climbing out of a balloon, not your body
Use music/sound (like shamanic drumming) instead of silence
Try daydream-to-OBE transitions: Just lie down and let your imagination drift until it naturally leads into the separation
This isn’t a test. You’re not “behind.” You already succeeded once,now you’re refining it.
You can also listen to music that de-stresses you and puts you in a good mood in the evening before going to do this.
3) Reduce fear right before the OBE
Right before your attempt, do 5 minutes of cardiac coherence (simple, science-backed):
Breathe in for 5 seconds
Breathe out for 5 second
Continue this for a few minutes (5–10 min is great)
This puts your nervous system into a parasympathetic state: calm, safe, open. It’s a game-changer for OBEs and shifting.
If you use micro alarm clocks you can do this at the time of the wbtb or before going to sleep or listen to asmr or a guided meditation focused on anxiety
You can also listen to these specific frequencies if you handle it well!
4) Scientifically supported tips to stop self-sabotage
Label the fear: Say out loud, “This fear is normal and will pass.” It calms the amygdala (emotion center).
Visualize a positive outcome before sleep (not the fear of failing).
Do progressive muscle relaxation: Contract/relax each muscle group to ground your body before separating.
Practice non-OBE relaxation daily, the more relaxed your brain gets used to being in altered states, the easier OBEs become.
If you feel scared during OBE try to calm down, breath deeply, and call out a guide that'll help you for your goal (shifting, manifestation, void...)
These kind of short meditation can do the job
