Art of Time Essay

Holly Potter The aim of the Art of time project was to look at how a time change as it progresses and recreate what happens during that period. One thing that I found to be most challenging about ‘Art of Time’ was making digital animations, and using digital tools on illustrator. However it was interesting to figure out how to use the animations by changing the pictures a little bit more in each frame so that it was turn into one smooth motion, if the image wasn’t moved too much in each frame. One thing I thought was successful for ‘Art of time’ was the ball animation in illustrator, the outcome was overall successful however it was challenging to use the digital tools provided to create a good and desirable animation. For my final piece of Art of Time I have chosen to make a flipbook, with a small but not too simple drawing. I have made the flipbook out of white card, so that it is easy to flick through, otherwise if the paper is too thin, it would be flimsy and have a poor presentation. The pages are tied together using a red ribbon. The picture animation is of a red ball bouncing into the page and then out, which I started drawing from the back of the flipbook to the front. I used this as presented in my flipbook because it was simple and not as complicated to complete in the right order. Overall, I believe Art of Time has increased my knowledge for digital design and Photoshop, and has helped my understanding for some tools and techniques that I could use to help me improve my skills in future projects.
