Happy international women day • • This day isn’t for celebrate women, but the rights we have, the ones we gain with time and the ones we still have to fight for, all around the world. I think it’s also a time to celebrate the women who inspire us and help us to be who we are, at every moment of our life. My real life hero will always be my mum and big sister, they are the most incredible women on earth, and never stop to inspire me. • • As a drawer, it’s also the opportunity to celebrate the fictionnal character(s) that inspire me. Young girl of my generation didn’t have any Katniss, Eleven, Sarah Maning, Felicity Smoak, Shuri and all this incredible badass, complex female characters there are now. What we had most of the time was so called female lead character princess, waiting for a prince on the white horse came to save her. Leading role was just a title, there were often no other female characters, and the only reason for her to be, was to serve the male character storyline, to glorify him and serve as a reward. How fustrated it was for a young girl like me who was more somewhere between a tomboy and a part time girl. I rather be a warrior princess back in time, kicking ass and fighting demons and gods, more than sang with birds waiting my happily ever after. • • And then came Catwoman. What a woman ! so badass, crazy, sad, borken, funny, smart, seductive ... all women in one. She wasn’t made to be a part of someone destiny but to took hers to her own hands. She was no one price, no victime, but no hero either, she was herself, free of other opinion. I will never be thankful enought the amazing Michelle Pfeiffer and the genius Tim Burton to offer us this incredible version of Selina Kyle. • • #internationalwomensday #fanart #catwoman #timburton #dccomics #selinakyle #michellepfeiffer #art #artist #artsite #artwork #drawing #dessin #illustration #instagood #instadaily #artoftheday #drawingoftheday #instaart #sketchoftheday #audreygianelli
