So, I love UtRH, its in my top three favorite comics but I do have one gripe. In the first issue we see that Stephenie Brown is dead. Killed by the Black Mask. But then she's just... never mentioned again.
Seriously! Another child DIED being Robin! Not only that but her backstory is very similar to Jason's. They both grew up in poverty with criminal fathers and mothers who struggled with drug addiction. Both of them were trying to change things before they ever took up the Robin mantle (Steph becoming Spoiler to stop her dad, Jay trying to stop a crime ring going on in his school).
Not only that but she's killed by Black Mask. You know the guy Jason spends a good portion of the story fighting.
Like, if the writers had bothered to remember any of this it could have brought so much more angst. Jason stalked the fuck out of the Bats before this, l refuse to believe that he didn't know about Stephenie. Look me in the eye and tell me that the fact that another kid, another kid like him, died being Robin wouldn't have pissed him off.
But ya know, that would have involved the writers actually giving a fuck about Stephenie.
