i embroidered my jacket!

learning sashiko has been so much fun and i'm still working on making my stitches more straight and less wonky, but for not having used a stitch guide for any of it and just drawing the pattern myself, i think it turned out pretty decent! it's not perfect but it's made with love and patient effort and that is what matters more. i might also do some stitching down the placket/outer trim eventually...but i like it for now :)

i enjoy visible mending so much and have really found a lot of peace and intentionality in doing it. it steeps me in the beauty of human art!

Ein sehr großer Beutel zum Geburtstag für einen Freund mit dem traditionellen japanischen Muster "Asanoha", gedacht zur Aufbewahrung seiner Bachi (Trommelstöcke für's Taiko, traditionelles japanisches Trommeln). Er liebt seine japanischen Ahornbäumchen und da dieses Muster auch gelegentlich fälschlich als Ahornblattmuster gedeutet wird (es sind stilisierte Hanfblätter) , dachte ich mir, als ich den Stoff auch noch in diesem perfekten Rot (in echt schöner als auf dem Foto) gefunden habe, dass ich daraus was für ihn nähen muss!

Es ist ein Wendebeutel und auf der anderen Seite hat er süße lachende Sushi, Wasabi und Soyasoßenfläschchen:

Quasi eine Seite für den seriösen Gebrauch und eine die ein bisschen silly und funny ist. :D

Ich wurde zwischenzeitlich informiert, dass er sich wahnsinnig gefreut hat und sich der Beutel auch ausgezeichnet zur Aufbewahrung seiner Flöten eignet (er spielt auch Shinobue oder Shakuhachi, eins von beidem - so cool!).

Ich freu mich wie immer unheimlich, wenn meine Arbeit sich gelohnt hat. ^_^

Maybe not pokemons in the store, but I love to draw nature so... Here you go. That lovely fox is in fact Asanoha - Hao's mother. I just like the idea of her being his guardian spirit, taking form of a kitsune. It's an older piece (as few other that I would post a little later on), I just need some more time to try and draw the things I promised.
