Autism Womens Network > Free Resources for Females

Of course, the reality is that showing compassion and helping those who identify with autism, asperger’s, or on the spectrum, and their families, get necessary support is something to embrace every month.…

I have asberger and at the moment it's very hot.
How people think I am:
"Part of my daily routine is based on hot beverages, when the weather is like this, I don't function. Therefore the weather is ableist!"
How I think I am:
"Does anyone have tips for coping with heat and staying productive, or should I just keep lying on the floor with a bowl of ice water and pretend to be a dog?"
How I actually am:
"The moment the weather changes my plans, I freak out. It does not matter if it's for the better or for the worse."

Pretentious, moi? *
Forgive me, I’m still bleating on about Asperger Syndrome. Lightbulb moments
Most of us like to think we are different, don’t we? We are all distinctive individuals, each with a sense of being a “me”. That doesn’t stop us being part of a sub-set, a group, a community or whatever, with shared beliefs or characteristics, but that distinctiveness encompasses a sense of self, as being capable of one’s own thoughts and responsible for one’s own achievements. But each of us…

Asberger
Recently got diagnosed with Asberger syndrome.
Amazing the things you do not know about yourself after 27 years.
And here I went for 10 years and thought I “simply” had depression. I should have asked for an in deep psychological investigation and got started with dealing with this years ago.
Would proberbly have been discovered earlier then this if I had a more serious case and had actually been unable to function on my own. But I am still happy it is not worse than it is.
Now I can do something about myself and my problems at least. I had honestly gotten rather tired with myself and my general lack of accomplishing anything. Lot of catching up to do and new rutines to establish.
Explaining to my mother why I am watching Arthur in the middle of the night.
