Me: *Just chilling, feeding into my batman hyper-fixation*
Me: *Sees some people posting autistic headcanons about batman characters*
Me: That's pretty cool. I wouldn't mind seeing an interpretation with a few of them being autistic at some point.
My brain: Which ones, though?
Me: I dunno, one could make an argument for just about any of them, really. Autism is such a varied thing that the mold could fit easily onto a lot of characters, I imagine.
My brain: Some people are headcanon-ing Riddler as autistic.
Me: I can see that. Some versions more than others though.
My brain: What about the other two members of the dork squad?
Me: I guess? They certainly have their hyperfixations, and they display some traits that you could tie to Autism-
Me: ...Oh shit.
And that's how I ended up with the autistic dork squad headcanon. All three of them.
You know what they say, 'birds of a feather flock together'.

(Btw you can find the first one here!)
Emmet:
I said this in the first one but I’ll say it again: He’s hyposensitive to sweet tasting things!
But his favourite flavour also happens to be sweet so he just eats super sweet things all the time
Probably had a lot of cavities because of this
Hugs and other close physical contact make him uncomfortable, so he usually doesn’t do it.
Ingo is pretty much the only one allowed to hug him, since they’re that close. Even other family members have trouble getting hugs from Emmet!
He was also diagnosed with ADHD as a kid
(I will probably make another post about this hehe)
There was a lot of rocking and hand/arm moving as a kid, likely from nervous energy and/or stimming.
(It’s lessened as he grew older but Emmet still stims quite a bit)
Despite what most people think, he is a rather clean person! The only “unclean” part of the house is his room, which is full of battle notes and stuff. It’s kind of an ‘orderly’ mess to him, though, and gets extremely upset if anyone moves anything without his permission.
Emmet can get enthusiastic about little things! He’s super warm and fluffy and it’s hard to make him sad (unless you, like, insult Ingo or something like that).
Some jokes and metaphors are difficult for him to understand though, and the same goes with Ingo. The Gear Station staff are very understanding of this though!
Because if Gear Station is anything, it’s very accepting!!
A large part of why he likes joltiks is because they’re super fluffy and tingle a bit when he pets them. It makes him happey ;w;
Also why he has like. A mountain of them. Nothing better than getting swallowed up by a mountain of joltik after a long day at work-
Emmet didn’t start talking until he was pretty old. He had to get speech therapy ;0!
He still doesn’t like to talk too much, though. So he leaves that to Ingo :D
Elesa got him a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for christmas (they have... cat ears blbl), just because she thought they’d look cool on him and also so that way he wouldn’t be bothered by loud noises
(he doesn’t wear it to work though- haha)
Ingo:
Ingo’s not actually mean and serious ALL the time, his resting face just looks angry and he talks serious.
When he’s nervous he’ll speak a lot more eloquently.
He doesn’t really like being seen as “serious” all the time, but it’s a lot harder for him to show stronger, more “fluffier” emotions so people don’t really get the memo
Unlike Emmet, Ingo’s hypersensitive to sweetness. He prefers mild flavours over anything else.
If he ate half as much sugar as Emmet, he’d have a headache all the time
He’s a very perceptive person and picks up on a lot of things that others don’t!
Like, it’s easy for him to notice when people are acting “off” (especially Emmet!)
It might not seem like it because he doesn’t give people direct eye contact, but he’s listening!
He was the first twin to talk, and he picked it up kind of quickly? Ingo always tried to speak like an adult though, probably to make up for Emmet’s lack of vocal communication.
Some people don’t think he’s autistic because he can act “normal,” but!! He is autistic! Get it right!!
Ingo has a little joke book that he reads from time to time. Some of the jokes don’t make too much sense to him, but he finds it useful to break the ice
Though it doesn’t usually work out, hg...
He has a fondness for train puns though-
Together he and Elesa probably have the worst sense of humor in Unova, but they manage to make Emmet laugh so I don’t think it matters hjkdgbf
Resasuke seems autistic to me
Inktober Day 3: ‘The Engineer Girl’
Have I mentioned how much I love Nautica? Because I love her a lot.
(Also, autism? In my giant alien robots? It’s more likely than you think.)
So many of Hotch’s character quirks can be attributed to him being autistic, and it’s great.
The fact that he dresses like the Prototypical FBI Agent despite the rest of the team being more flexible re: work clothes? He’s autistic and he never understood dress codes or the complicated rules involved in how people perceive others based on their clothing, so he just dresses like the stereotype because at least that way he can guarantee that he’ll always be perceived as an agent.
The constant folding of his arms? He’s autistic, and that’s pressure stimming to either help him concentrate or relieve stress (or both).
His awkwardness with physical contact? He’s autistic and touch averse, and on top of that finds social rules about what physical contact is appropriate in a given situation difficult, so he just. Doesn’t touch people much.
His complete inability to switch off from his job? He’s autistic, and it’s his special interest as well as his chosen career.
The fact that he’s very good at people when it’s required on a case, but is always a bit awkward socially or when in unfamiliar emotional situations? He’s autistic, and finds it harder applying the Behavioural Rules that he’s learned in some situations than he does in others.
His general stoicism and subdued facial expression? He’s autistic, so he expresses himself in an atypical way.
The way he seems to be much closer to Reid’s wavelength than any of the others? They’re both autistic.
It fits so neatly and I love this headcanon A Lot.
