There's a lot of people who don't know what asexuality is. It's asexuality awareness week so I thought I would talk a bit about it. Asexuality means little to no sexual attraction. For example, one could be in a relationship and have romantic feelings for their partner but they would have no sexual feelings. Or maybe they would only be feeling sexual attraction towards them once in a blue moon. Maybe they do feel sexually attracted to them after having spent a lot of time with them and having connected with them emotionally. Asexuality is a spectrum. There's all kinds of different people who identify with it. Sometimes, it's really hard for them to realize. There are sex repulsed asexuals, who don't want to have sex even if you threaten them. There are sex indifferent asexuals, who don't find sex interesting at all but would be willing to engage in it for the sake of their partner. And there are also sex positive asexuals who want to have sex, even like it. But they like the act itself and they don't feel sexual attraction towards the other person. There's all kinds of people, really. We live in a sex favorable community but some people just don't roll with that. They are different, and that's okay. Don't tell them "you just need to meet the right guy" or "it's just a phase". Don't try to fix them. They are not broken. Asexuals, or aces as they are usually called, just have a different view in life. They want to indulge in their hobbies and spend time with their friends instead of having sex or going out flirting with that random person in the bar. We are a minority. But we are still here. If you are an Ace, don't feel discouraged. You are not alone! There's many people who are asexual and just never found out. There's literally no awareness. There's countless of asexuals who stumbled across the term by mistake and identified with it almost immediately. So please, raise awareness! It will help us a lot! To all the aces out there: You are not broken! You are you and you should be proud for yourself! 🙏 Thank you for reading until the end! #asexualityawarenessweek #asexual #asexualawareness #lgbtq🌈 https://www.instagram.com/p/CVm9PT7qV8o/?utm_medium=tumblr
