What’s Been Going On With This blog?
I’m going to be honest with you. Updates on this blog have been (and probably still will be) slow because:
-The lack of interest from people. I get VERY little likes and reblogs. It sometimes make me question if I still should still keep this blog active and going if there’s no real fans/audience who is following.
-Equestria Girls has ended. Everyone’s moving on to bigger, better things and other interest and fandoms. Something that I should have done a while ago too...but I haven’t. I guess I still have a soft spot for EQG, as it’s all that I have as far as cartoons go. Without that, then I guess that’s it for my childhood? Who knows, maybe that’s what’s best? I’m 25. It happens. Though I do have some ideas for some original series...
-I made the mistake of starting the blog too late. I started this blog only a year after the series officially ended. Maybe if I started it in the beginning or in the middle of it’s run time, I would of had a better chance, but now? I’m not sure.
-Personal life issues. I admit, sometimes it has a lot to do with my mental health. It’s other things too, but I choose to not share that (at least not at the moment). The point I’m making is that this can affect the progress of ASD (or any other works that I choose to do in my free time).
-My art style and quality. It can be better and I can improve. There’s always room for improvement. However, even if I do get better, what good it would do after that? Will my follower count go up? Will I get more reblogs or likes?
Also, I’m starting to feel like my story or how I portray Sonata Dusk’s character in it isn’t interesting enough for others to follow. I can have the best darn art style in the world or get as many asks as I can, but at the end of the day, what’s going to matter is how I portray my story and my art. At this moment, I feel like I’ve displayed my work as juvenile at best to be honest. That’s not my goal. My goal is to make a complex story and have an art style that’s expected from a 25 year old woman. So far, I haven’t displayed that (at least, not in my opinion).
-I lose interest constantly. This is due to many of the factors above. Also, I want to keep in mind that Ask Sonata Dusk was also made for my enjoyment, on my interest and liking for Sonata Dusk as a character herself. So if I lose that very interest, what’s there left to really motivate me?
Is Ask Sonata Dusk Canceled, Dead, or Will Be?
I would like to jump and say “No way! Not anytime soon at least!”, but I honestly don’t know. It really depends on my interest and motivation. I’m still going to try and go through with the series, but don’t expect quick updates.
How Often Will It Update?
Again, probably not too often. Since there’s not many followers, likes or reblogs, what’s the real rush? Updates will most likely be very slow, probably will go on a couple of hiatuses every now and then.
However, Despite Everything...
I still have some interest in keeping this blog alive though. It’s because:
-It’s something I do enjoy from time to time.
-There’s still some stories/plots that haven’t been told in Ask Sonata Dusk.
-I kind of want to touch upon other serious subjects like abuse, addiction, the complexities of love, job finding, etc.
-I love Sonata Dusk and I can relate to her in some ways from the very little we saw from her.
-I want to develop Dalia Rose more and also tell her story.
-I want to add more characters to the series.
-I want show off Sonata’s past children.
-I still have hope that at least a little bit more people will take interest in ASD’s story, even if progress is slow.
-Some people are still interested in Equestria Girls.
-I love drawing and creating art.

Sorry guys if this doesn’t sound too professional, but I’m just being honest. Yes, I am starting to lose hope in ASD, but I haven’t yet. I would like take this moment to thank everyone who has stayed with me on this and gave ASD a chance! I hope to at least find some motivation to continue soon!
