R2-D2 – Star Wars Black Series – Revenge of the Sith – 20th Anniversary
Finally can post pics of my special little droid, 2Z9! He’s my own custom astromech droid from the droid depot at disneyworld that I hand painted to give him some extra flare~
I posted a video of him in action here and even some art of his in-universe self in my au here!
R5-A2 can be seen roaming the streets of Mos Eisley, when Luke and Ben are trying to find a passage to Alderaan. The figure was available as a build-a-droid during the fantastic Legacy Collection, meaning you needed to buy four figures, one for left and right leg each, one for the torso, and one for the head and middle leg. I had the two legs already. When I posted a while ago about how I threw away my packagings and gathered all droid parts that were still lingering in them, @detaleader responded and offered to trade parts. So with his help I got the torso—thanks a lot @detaleader! With another lucky strike I found a cheap Sandstorm Luke with R5-A2s head and middle leg and now here we are. The R5 droid always was very special for me as R5-D4 was the droid that survived all through my childhood, while Artoo died several terrible deaths or simply went lost. Also there always was something about the head/dome, that fascinated me. So it’s great to welcome another R5 droid to my collection, this time even in my favorite color. My next build-a-droid project is R3-M3, the blue Astromech droid with the transparent dome, that can be seen on the Death Star just before Obi-Wan and Vader meet. I’m only missing R3-M3’s right leg. R3-T2: This R3-series astromech droid lived on Tatooine during the Imperial Era. Little is known about him, besides his red top and blue body. R3 also stood 1.09 meters tall. He was once spotted roaming around the streets of Mos Eisley when a landspeeder zoomed past him. This landspeeder contained Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO and, another droid who looked like R3, R2-D2. He remained on Tatooine during the Battle of Yavin in 0BBY. R3-T2 can be seen in “A New Hope”... . . . #anewhope #tatooine #astromechdroid #legostarwars #legominifigs #starwars #starwarsfigures #minifigure #minifig #legos (at Tatooine) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJuPPxTJttO/?igshid=1jgdg34p9asga
