For @ataniweek and the @oneringnet kings and queens event
Atani Week: January 6-12, 2021
This is a week-long event celebrating the Atani, or better known as the Race Of Men. This is a week designed to help show case some of the lesser known men and give them a time to shine, though of course some fan favorites I’m sure will be included (and should be!). This week is to prove without a doubt that the phrase second is best, without saying first is the worst.
Any content and creations are welcome as long! You can create edits, gifs, fanart, fanfic, fanmixes, and more! To participate, create your fanwork and post it in the #ataniweek or please just at the @ataniweek blog!
Below are some prompts for each day of the week. They are not mandatory.
DAY ONE: Men and Arda/Men and Eru/Men and the Dark Lords DAY TWO: Three Houses of the Edain. DAY THREE: Numenor. DAY FOUR: Numenor’s descendants (Gondor, Arnor, and Umbar) DAY FIVE: Northmen (Rohan, Dale, and Laketown) and Hobbits DAY SIX: Easterlings and Haradrim and Dunlendings DAY SEVEN: Free Day
This event is being run, solo by @hildorien. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to message this blog or there. Also a rules list is here.
Thank you!
@ataniweek day six | haradrim
'Tis said that there were dealings of old between Gondor and the kingdoms of the Harad in the Far South; though there was never friendship. In those days our bounds were away south beyond the mouths of Anduin, and Umbar, the nearest of their realms, acknowledged our sway. But that is long since. 'Tis many lives of Men since any passed to or fro between us.

Haleth. Haldad, and Haldar + a motto from Elgin’s Mottoes associated with the European half of my ancestry
please do tell us more about éadwara and irviniel
Considering that they are both very forward thinking and professional women, their enduring and aching love for one another has been a source of great upheaval in their lives. Éadwara, for her part, loved and pursued Ivriniel from their first conversation, Gondorian restrictions be damned. Indeed, considering touch is only really allowed between family, married partners and members of the same sex, Éadwara managed to get away with such things as shown above rather easily.
And god did Ivriniel love her for it. In reality she’s just as anti establishment, JUST as desirous to push boundaries and live a little. But for Ivriniel all that pales when compared to her work. She dresses just a little eccentrically, but not in any way that might distract from what she might be saying within a court. And, unfortunately, Éadwara is very distracting. The publicity surrounding the sister of Prince Imrahil perhaps entering into some ‘ill-fated’ affair with a woman, a woman such as Éadwara, she just can’t risk it.
The pair have been moving through a relentless push pull with each other for decades. Éadwara decided long ago that Ivriniel was really the only person she’d ever wish to live alongside, love and cherish, she’s no wish to try again. So they may not see each other for years, until Éadwara returns to the Belfalas and Ivriniel is asked by her lady’s maid if she will be let in. And the maid might notice her colour slightly as she thinks about it, no matter how old she gets, and yet she still may refuse her, in which case Éadwara will only leave with a little chill of melancholy and try again next year.
If she accepts her however, Éadwara always fills her ears with new discoveries and happenings that she would only ever want to tell her and Ivriniel will make her laugh like no one else and they’ll spend a few weeks, perhaps even months, together before Éadwara must once again be sent away.
