Okay is it just me but-

Do atla dragons have breeds (or how to call it). Like non of them look like the same specie!! Even Druk who's really similiar face wise to Two Master Dragons is still in my opinion propably a dofferent kind, heavly related but his body build is way more square than theirs (I know it's propably due to artstyle swift but- I like to come up with a fun explenation)

Which would make sense. Most reptile types are families full of all different types, so why couldn't the dragons evolve? It would be fun and also it scratches my reptile loving brain just the right way.

Also lil headcanon? Dragons who posses these fin-ears are marine, they can'r really breath underwater but they still spend most of their life at the sea and also their wings are not as good for flying as it evolved more to help them swim (I imagine them swimming similiar way to a marine iguana + some extra helo with wings), but they still can fly! Just not as fast and for shorter spaces of time as they have less stamina for it. As they were harder to come by than more terrestial dragons they were considered a delicacy to have one tamed or later to have slayed one, that's why Sozin got himself one.

They are very closley related to these guys but aren't the same species as these. They separated on their evoltion line in one simple way, the type Sozin had were amphibian, sure they spend most of their life in sea but still maitained wings and legs and spend half of their life on the ground. These became fully marine untill their legs and eings deevolved, instead they gained powerful lungs that can hold oxygen for hours and they became for aerodynamic. They only come on land to lay eggs, kinda like sea turtles. Some specialists declasfied them as dragons due to their lack of limbs, and consider them a sea serpent type. But biologically they are the in fact a dragon type.
