The actual way Zuko “found” Druk:

Sun Warrior Chief: Fire Lord Zuko, thank you for answering our humble request for your assistance.

Zuko: Of course. What is it that I can do?

Sun Warrior Chief: There’s a small dragon flying around asking everyone if they’ve seen his dad.

Zuko: …

Sun Warrior Chief: He says he needs you to take him to his soccer game and he wants chicken nuggets for dinner.

Druk brings mai special gifts to her study and drops it in her lap with a very proud smile and mai looks at the dead turtleduck her husband’s over sized owl cat brought her with disgust as zuko looks at the animal with tears in his eyes mourning zuko junior III

do u think Mai likes reading?? i know this is stupid to ask lol

but what genre of literature do u think she likes to read and what do she hates/dislike??

hello!! noooo, it's a great thing to ask, i like it!

i think that mai is not opposed to reading as long as it's something interesting and not stupid. maybe, reading is not her favorite thing in the world, but sometimes she wouldn't mind finding a quiet, cozy place and sitting with a book/a scroll. i imagine her reading during boring shifts in the flower shop and later, when she lives in the palace.

i think she would definitely despise many sappy romance novels (not romance as a genre but when it's poorly written and nauseously sweet, it's just ugh for her). she wouldn't bother to go through pages of stupid love declarations, no, thank you, she's not her husband.

she also doesn't like reading children's tales or bedtime stories (that doesn't change even when she has a kid) and boring manuals to something. she's not super keen on adventure or action genres but she supposes she can tolerate these types of books. mai is not super into theater plays or scrolls about dragons lives and habitats (and it honestly breaks zuko's heart).

i imagine she likes darker genres but not too nasty. i see her reading detectives, historical novels, and something similar to gothic or mysterious novels (if such a thing exists in the fire nation), the atmosphere and the vibes are important to her. sometimes she also reads scrolls about the art of fight (and one of her favorite writers in this genre is, of course, master piandao).
