Midwife went fine
We spoke for around half an hour, as everything, and I mean EVERYTHING information wise now has to be updated online, so we had to go back alllll the way to my first miscarriage back in 2012.
My midwife is the same as last year and she remembers me, like, REALLY remembers me; like who my partner is, our housing issues, my ex partner etc, which is fine, I don’t mind, she’s pretty sound.
She told me that this time I’d qualify for a home birth, which is something I’ve been majorly considering, mainly because I hate the invasiveness of hospital births and despite begging for an epidural both times, it never worked, so we may as well cut out the middle man really and just stay put.
She also took my bloods, urine, weight and height, which I’ve never had done all in one appointment before, so evidentally the system is changing again.
She thinks I’m around 12 weeks with an Edd of early June.
My scan could be another 4-6 weeks so chances are I’ll be pretty much halfway gone by then. Oh well. Life 🤷🏼♀️
No experience in my life has brought me as much joy as my children.
I am unapologetically happy every moment with them I am given.
I would go through it all and back again.
I loved each pregnancy.
I loved each labor of love.
I loved infancy, nursing, toddlerhood.
I find joy in motherhood. Each aspect and love every moment.
I’m sorry you are unable to find joy and cherish the moment you are in with them, whether challenging or smooth.
I will not follow your negative view. Not for one second.
I will always breastfeed in public;
without reservation and on demand.
It is my choice to do so and I am protected by law.
I do it for the first time mom hiding in the bathroom. The one always hiding in the bedroom at family gatherings.
The mom shamed into exclusively pumping.
At a soccer game, the movies, in the checkout line at the grocery store, wherever and whenever.
Beware.
If you confront me, you will get a polite fuck you.
Wrapping Wednesday-The one where Dad did the wrapping
We went shopping last week and Chris insisted on carrying Cairo in our new Joy & Joe Baby Carob Mapperley wrap, it’s a size 6 and a luscious peachy pink in their distinctive Kente design.
Chris is a big fan of FWCC and also SSC’s (see below for a glossary of terms) so it was lovely to see him embrace not only a woven but wanting to do a back carry.
To see what the hypes about!
So we got…
