Cumulus, with her soft, fluffy fur, has a very gentle temperament. She started her life out unsure of humans and all the noises that come with them and took up residence under her foster mom's bed for the first month. After lots of time and patience, Cumulus eventually started making her appearance and even let her foster family pet and eventually worked her way up to sitting on their laps. Cumulus is very sociable with other cats and though she doesn't love dogs, she tolerates their presence. She loves to play and is easily coaxed out of hiding with toys. Though Cumulus has adjusted to the chaos of her foster home full of children, a dog, and other cats, she would prefer a quieter environment.
who should be next to get to detective
I've been thinking about this a lot and I think I have came to a conclusion:
Adam Ruzek: He's fine right where he is. He is made for action and good police work, he doesn't need detective status because he's better on the streets.
Kiana Cook: A little early for her, she has lots of things to learn and she's shown great potential for police work. She doesn't need detective status yet.
Kevin Atwater: I feel like he's a great partner duo with Adam and we need some hands on the streets. I feel like he doesn't care about reaching detective either way, all he cares about is doing good police work and beating prejudice and unfairness and that can be achieved if he's on the streets setting up a good example. He's a person who thinks with his heart and that could be a little dangerous for a detective, but he can also be a very logical person too, the voice of reason.
Dante Torres: I feel like he's the best possibility. He's shown great signs of investigative skills especially at 12x07 and he's only getting better and better. Yes maybe it's a little early and yes he is good police and can fight and we need some hands on the streets especially new blood but for now I think he's got the most potential. He also thinks with his heart a lot but most of the times he doesn't let that affect his work.
If the CPD Intelligence Unit were teachers these are the subjects I think they would teach:
Kevin - History Teacher - 100% best History teacher you will ever have - he’ll make learning about the past and dead people interesting and fun, and he will also make sure it is accurate af (bc fuck biased and outdated textbooks) - coaches the basketball team and weightlifting (Bc have you seen those muscles?)
Jay - Math - used to be an Army Sniper so we know he fucks with numbers - everyone’s crush - math has never looked so good - always stays an extra hour after school to help any struggling students with tutoring - often incites an end of the year prank war with the Biology teacher (aka the other Halstead) - coaches baseball
(extra: has a big fat crush on the English teacher - kids ship it - lose their shit when they find out they’ve been married the whole time)
Hailey - English - turned her love for reading into a job - super patient when teaching grammar rules - always provides constructive feedback and encouragement - always lets students share their interpretations and opinions - has ZERO patience for entitled parents - passionate about banned books - offers extra credit for a book to movie adaption comparison essay - runs the debate team (state champs 2 years running) - coaches track and field
Kim - Spanish - very interactive rather than just teaching from a book - makes sure you are pronouncing it correctly (and that you should never be embarrassed about it) - on days where she needs to lesson plan, she lets the class watch a (SFW) telenovela episode and write a summary of what happened to the best of their understanding (the outcome is chaotic but also entertaining - students can elect to share with the class) - coaches girls volleyball
Adam - P.E. - often has more energy than the students - coaches football and girls powderpuff football (is terrified of the girls - has seen some shit) - teams up with Platt to teach Drivers Ed (super proud that only 2 cones had to be replaced this year)
