Richard really knows how to turn on the charm, and the camera loves him. The sly smile. The subtle raise of his eyebrows. The ubiquitous tongue of concentration. Nobody does it better! 😏🔥😋

Tavern (Dargath Chronicles Book 1)
Narrated by Rodney Peel
Genre: High Fantasy/Swords and Sorcery
In the magical world of Dargath, the story follows Xel— an orc tavern owner, an information broker, a healer, and guildmaster of the Blackwind Company. Though a resident of the city of Lladad for only two years, Xel has found a place far better than the forest from which he came.
When a simple act of kindness reels him into unraveling a plot to destroy his new home, Xel is forced to do what needs to be done with the contacts that he has to protect it. Xel’s morality, his livelihood, and his ambition are pushed to their limits against a wizard powerful enough to rip the city apart.
He must scheme with vipers, mingle with royalty, blackmail in the slums, and fight assassins and mercenaries. Most importantly, he needs to lean on the support of his friends to keep him steady and safe from his own inner demons tempting him with tales of failure.
A fun blend of World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons, Scott Lynch's Gentleman's Bastards, and Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives.
Dusk Mountain Blues
Narrated by Alex Zonn
Genre: Science Fiction/Space Opera Western
The Caldwells have one goal in life: to be left alone. They’ve been living on the backwater planet of C’dar for years, smuggling and scavenging their way to a comfortable life on their Homestead. But you know the saying about all good things – they come to an end. The Civilization wasn’t content with falling apart the first time and has finally caught wind of the ol’ boys and girls on their little rock in the middle of nowhere. Ain’t nothing much they can do about that, though…except fight ’em.
It all comes down to three generations of Caldwells— Luke “Drifter” Caldwell, Woodrow “Appetite” Caldwell, and Cassie “Kindle” Caldwell—as they fend for everything they call home. What is isolation worth?

The Bone Collector - Jeffery Deaver
Time: 12 hours 53 minutes Narrator: Jeffrey Harding
First of Deaver’s Lincoln Rhyme procedural thrillers. Lincoln was a forensic specialist for the NYPD until three years ago when a crime scene accident left him quadriplegic, and seeking an assisted suicide. Rhyme is drawn into a murder investigation, in the process meeting Amelia Sachs, a young policewoman with an instinct for forensics. So begins a chase in which Rhyme and Sachs are constantly chasing the clock trying to free a series of kidnap victims before they die.
Narrator The Bone Collector fame is a favourite of mine so I had in mind the soft tones of Denzel Washington, and Angelina Jolie’s tough kickass portrayal of Amelia. I accept that the audiobook is going to sound different but I really didn’t get along with Harding’s narration. He seems to have the ability to portray different male voices, but managed to make them all intensely irritating. His Lincoln Rhyme was raucous and unlikeable. Worse, poor Amelia Sachs became a soft, pathetic creature at his hands. Amelia is a tough lady, a New York beat cop who is not afraid to stand up for herself. Harding’s Sachs was a travesty.
This is a great film and the book is a even better read. The audiobook, however, leaves much to be desired. I may listen to other Deaver books, but not with this narrator.
5/10
Michael narrated “Breakfast At Tiffanys” in 2014. Here´s a little snippet.

(AudibleUK) Listening to Richard’s narration of some classic love poems is exactly how I picture my Sunday nights... His voice is like velvet. I could listen to him all day...
