Dude, if I wrote songs for a theoretical "HPCC: The Musical" I know no one would read it, but I am so down to give it a try. I have no way to put it onto a music sheet, but I can throw some lyrics out in a good enough rhyme scheme, so bitches I just might.
So I did state in the previous post abt how I think that Albus is lowk a male version of a female protag in a romatasy. Mind you, I'm basing this opinion on 3 romance books and what I've heard from the internet. (This may be a huge reach lmfao so pls bear with me.)
Now, you might've thought 'But Honeybee! What made you jump to THAT conclusion???'
Well... Buckle up cuz it's a long story...
So one day, I was pondering on the Cursed Child as I usually do any day lmao. At that particular day, I was thinking abt the train station scene during Albus' third year. Specifically abt these 2 sentences in the script.
And with that, time moves ever onwards — ALBUS’s eyes become darker, his face grows more
sallow. He’s still an attractive boy, but he’s trying not to admit it.
And I was thinking abt Albus' clearly deteriorating mental state. But then I thought of the "He's still an attractive boy" part which weirded me out, cuz firstly, that just ruined the sad vibes earlier and secondly, it was so out of place. Mind you this paragraph was after many scenes of Albus getting bullied/ostracised. And finally, bro was THIRTEEN! THIRTEEN! My guy is too young for the narrator to think of him as attractive.
And I did lowk find it funny as well. Cuz it read to me as "Look! Albus' skin is sallow and his eyes are dark but DON'T WORRY!!! HE'S STILL HOT!"
But that made me think of the next part of that sentence - "but he's trying not to admit it."
Do you know what that sounds like?
Protag: "Oh but I was a painfully average girl."
Protag: "I looked in the mirror and saw that I had eye bags"
Protag: (Hottest girl in the room)
Some mafia dude: "Mamma Mia! You are as beautiful as risotto!(Kisses her hand then leaves to do some mafia shit)
Cuz that is what it sounds like! Like bro, he's got all these features but HE'S STILL HOT but bro still doesn't think he is. Switch the genders and he sounds like he is gonna be in some romance books dawg.
That is when I thought, 'Wait a min! He does sound like a romantasy protag!'
Cuz No. 1, DADDY ISSUES
Okay maybe it ain't a romance specific thing, but I do feel like it might work in scenario 2 that I wrote below.
And No. 2, in some points Albus is kind of an empowered damsel which is sorta a thing I've seen in this one romance book.... Uhh.... this is a huge stretch... I did say that this theory is mostly based on vibes lmfao.
There are 2 ways, you could potentially twist the cursed child into a romance plot.
1. Dark Romance
(Potential ship - Albus × Delphi)
Now you might think that this ship is honestly gross and wrong and YOU ARE RIGHT FOR THAT but I'm putting them in this scenario to prove a point. And plus, those dark romance peeps are most likely gonna find the wrong aspect hot... idk...
BUT THE POINT IS...
It sorta fits. Why? Imma do a sub-list lmao.
A. The first time they meet
This is on the boots where Delphi does briefly touch Albus's thighs with both hands and obviously, Albus notices it. While this is creepy af, in a dark romance, it could be portrayed as possessive.
B. Yeah so there was this one scene where Delphi praises Albus for mastering the expelliarmus.
ALBUS: Expelliarmus!
DELPHI’s wand flies through the air.
DELPHI: You’re getting it now. You’re good at this.
She takes her wand back from him.
(In a posh voice.) “You’re a positively disarming young man.”
ALBUS: Expelliarmus!
Her wand flies back again.
DELPHI: And we have a winner.
The two high-five.
ALBUS: I’ve never been good at spells.
SCORPIUS appears at the back of the stage. He looks at his friend talking to a girl — and part of
him likes it and part of him doesn’t.
DELPHI: I was rubbish — and then something clicked. And it will for you too. Not that I’m a super witch or
anything but — I think you’re becoming quite some wizard, Albus Potter.
Ofc asides from the obvious love triangle situation LMFAO...
That part which I highlighted in green... Obviously she did state it in a very awkward way but it seems reminiscent of those fanfics where the mentor lover dude looks at the protag and be like
Mentor lover dude(very rizzily): You aren't actually bad.... You have potential.....(extra rizz)
C. Also that one time Delphi draws a wand on Albus' neck - we could turn it into some romance type stuff. Heck now I think of it, girl kissed bro, tied him up, flirted with him and allat tho at very diff times.
D. Also, judging by twilight, I'm pretty sure age gaps are a thing in romance novels
E. Also judging by twilight, LOVE TRIANGLES!!! Scorpius and Delphi are competing for Albus eyyyyy!!!!
Tbf I don't have much on Delphi, mostly cuz I'd prefer not to think much abt Augurlight... But yeah... I just added it cuz hey....
Now onto my favorite scenario....
2. Forbidden Romance
(Potential Ship - Albus x Scorpius)
Obviously the daddy issues would work here. It could be some romeo and juliet -esque story.
A. STAIRCASE BALLET!!!
B. THE WHOLE HARRY/ALBUS/SCORPIUS PLOT
It be giving "but daddy, I love him!"
And urgh, the final scene of the new version..... "Scorpius is the most important person in my life and he might always be the most important" arghhhhh......
C. In some older boots, Scorpius did pull him back when Amos raised his wand. PROTECTIVE SCORPIUS AYYY!!
D. Scorbus is elite... Nothing else to say...
E. Ig it would be very realistic for scorpius to be all "Albus, you are actually beautiful" tho he prolly wouldn't compare him to risotto :(
F. STAIRCASE BALLETTTTTTT
Guys.... I couldn't think much beyond this. I swear I had much more points and much more convincing points on why Albus could be a good romance protag...
But eyy... here is some of my explanation of my very silly theory...
Edit: Also in the previous post, @ace-aussie-asshole mentioned that Albus did ignore all of Delphi's red flags which is SUCH A GOOD POINT AND SO ROMANTASY that I'm gonna add it to this post.
One of my favourite Scorpius Malfoy moments is when he's just so annoyed with Delphi flirting with his teenage best friend. His line about her not being able to disguise herself as a teenager convincingly just reads as such "hey adult woman, need I remind you that you are currently flirting with my teenage best friend? Hello teenage best friend, may I remind you that this woman is an adult and her flirting with you is a huge red flag?" Like Scorpius was so pissed - reasonably so - and he was not accepting her creepy ass behaviour.

Under a cut because this post got kind of long.
Basically, I would say the Next Gen/Cursed Era includes HPMA, some people choose to believe it doesn't, but since the HPMA main cast are either a year above or the same age as Teddy Lupin, I think it's only fair to include them. Abigail Grey, a HPMA background character, apparently even mentions wanting to be Teddy's friend. However, we kind of have to pull from all over the place, so some of these characters are from HPWU, FBCWW, DPNL and various other miscellaneous sources, including names that only appear in the damn themepark.
They're all really spread out though, and obviously a lot of them are related (Wotter's plus Scorpius has like three cousins). HPNG fans don't actually all necessarily take HPCC as gospel since the script has changed a few times, but HPCC is more of a basis for the kind of theming these characters have and also provides some other characters we can use, as well as canon characterisations.
It'll be a bit difficult to give a full explanation of every character, especially since they're pulled from so many random sources with different storylines, but the general theme of pretty much every established storyline is generational trauma, a general "I'm not my parents/namesakes vibe" and the impacts of authorities corrupting power (Harry, Hermione, Gareth and Grim all canonically do feel how power can corrupt people, although Harry and Hermione do at least eventually learn and acknowledge that while Gareth and Grim do not). Like, people generally agree that James Sirius Potter is a classic case of oldest sibling who is desperately trying to keep his little brother and sister out of trouble. Lily and Hugo are actually generally regarded as the troublemakers of this gen while James S and Fred II are quite often thought of as more nerdy.
The easiest way I can explain it's appeal is by comparing it to the other gens.
Knights of Walpurgis Era: You know how it ends, but you get to decide the beginning and middle.
Marauders Era: You know how it starts and how it ends, but you get to decide what changed.
Golden Trio Era: You get the full story, but you get to decide what makes that story important.
Cursed Era: You get the beginning and parts of the middle, and you get to decide how they move on from there.
I'll give you my list of characters, but it's actually not super exhaustive, the themepark names are mostly painfully generic so I only took the ones I liked (there's a dude named Christian Williams or some shit, like that's how basic they are), and I'll list their parents, if they have named parents, beside them. You can look at the fandom wiki so if anyone intrigues you, so you can see what the canon storyline is, but also you can probably just scroll through the #hp next gen tag and find a lot of stuff (recently it is mostly me, because the subfandom shrunk, but there's other people in there. Do watch out for people tagging random Dramione, Jegulus and Wolfstar posts with Scorpius Malfoy, Scorbus and Teddy Lupin though, it was a MASSIVE problem a few years ago and I blocked so many people I don't actually know how big of a problem it still is). I've got them in my age order, but there is some variation across the fandom. Skull next to a dead parent BTW.
Only including canon characters, characters we know exist but have no names (I think you can relate to that) or popular fanon characters that were created since we have such a small and wide reaching cast. Also going to include links for characters that are hard to get information for.
