Your free samples are the best.” She smiled at the man behind the stall. “I’ll take four or five of those. I’m making a plum galette with crème fraîche...” She had to laugh at his skeptical expression. “No, actually, they’re just for eating. You know me too well, Ernan. Oh, but I do have a party at work coming up. I’m gonna go pick out some cheese. Catch you later.” She paid, grabbed her plums, and turned to go.
