Quick announcement!
I decided (after much dithering around) to make a Ko-Fi to support my website and start a publishing fund for Runaways. This seems like the least obtrusive option, over ads, or a patreon I couldn’t maintain, and there’s no pressure to donate! I promise I won’t be super annoying about this, but I just wanted it to be available just in case.
Thanks so much sorry byeeeeeeeeee
Let me tell you a true story…
Has anyone ever asked you "What good is writing for?"
Many authors to go into "real jobs" for a variety of personal reasons, sometimes unfortunately jobs that might not relate to our true interests with people who don't get it. They don't get what makes creatives tick and if can be exhausting to feel like you can't use your talents to contribute anything worthwhile.
But Prof. G was not one of those people. I was blessed to meet him at the time I did and wanted to share some of his wise words with all of you. I hope you find them as encouraging as I did.
Thank you so much to Siarven for agreeing to be a guest on today’s post! They discuss the incredible worldbuilding in their WIP Dreams Shado
I am SO EXCITED to share this interview today because it includes one of my best friends on writeblr. @siarven was so gracious to agree to do this and I absolutely loved reading their answers. I read their dark epic fantasy book Dreams Shadow earlier this year and absolutely loved it. It has some of the most interesting, well-thought-out worldbuilding I have ever read, and getting to hear about all the behind the scenes was fascinating. I highly recommend checking out their blog/work! And if that wholehearted endorsement doesn't convince you... There Are Dragons 👀
I MADE IT A YEAR?!
I was honestly in shock when I looked back through my archive and realized that I not only hit fifty (50!) posts, but also a full year of consistent weekly blogging. I never imagined I'd make it this far when I first started playing with wordpress, attempting to make an author's website because, "that's what 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 writers do, right?" Thanks for coming along on this journey with me.
To celebrate, I wrote a bonus post about the lessons I've learned in the past year. I hope you can learn from my experience, or at least find my take-aways interesting and worth the read. 💛

Welcome to the world of Laoche! This is the home of all the stories in the (appropriately named) Laoche Chronicles, including a main trilogy (that has yet to be named) and the prequel, Storge. I fi…
Today’s post talks about how I came up with the idea for this series, why I decided to stop and write Storge first, and how I’ve developed the world now that I’m back to the main series! I’m really proud of the worldbuilding I’ve set up for this story - it’s SO much better than anything I could have invented when I was 14 and it’s neat to see how far my storytelling ability has come. This post also features a map of the world, in case you missed that when I threw it up here a couple month’s ago. I hope you all enjoy reading it!

Welcome to the first of my Personal Process Posts, talking about how I develop characters!
January is Characterization month on my website so today's blog post talks about how I personally go about developing my characters in the outline stage. This isn't a How To Guide, since everyone's methods will be different, but sometimes seeing how another writer goes about some aspect of the creative process can be useful for learning new tools to adapt and use in your own writing. I hope you find it useful :)
Which of your characters has changed the most since you first started writing them? For me, it's Alric. He's one of the villains in Laoche, and he went from being a very one dimensional evil wizard who sat atop his tower going "muahahahaha" to being a desperate student with a complex motivation and a redemption arc.
